Almost always accidents like that are a series of failures, the scientific process to find THE reason is called 'Root cause analysis'. A very interesting story if not a horrific one. It seems the public didn't become aware of the accident until after the movie was released, at least I didn't. The director Landis should have been convicted of 'something' just based on attitude alone. No mention of 'narcissism' in his analysis.

It looks like there were a lot of factors involved, like a series of dominoes or a perfect storm.

By the time the gun gets into the assistant director's hands and then the actor's hands, it's supposed to have been checked and verified several times. The ball was dropped.

By whom?

That's the question.

The armorer had already expressed concerns about not being qualified for the job. Many folks working on the film had quit, camera operators and more.

There had already been misfires from guns being used in the film.

Corners were being cut in the budget.

There are stories of some people using the guns for target practice at some point before the filming.

Where, in the chain-of-custody did things go wrong?

This and more are being investigated.

The head of lighting on the set is suing.

According to court documents...authorities seized three black revolvers, ammunition boxes, a fanny pack with ammunition, several spent casings, two leather gun belts with holsters, articles of clothing and swabs of what were believed to be blood.

According to an article in the New York Post the assistant district attorney says that they know who loaded the bullet into the gun, but they do not know how it ended up being a live bullet rather than a blank.

Much of the ammunition recovered was blanks, dummy rounds and 'some suspected live rounds'.

I just came across a story about a crew member being bitten by a brown recluse spider. That causes necrosis and his arm is in bad shape.

This set had some bad karma for sure.

I was thinking that I had a dream about that crash the night before that it happened but I don't think this is the one.

I do remember having a dream about an American Flag being planted on a neighbor's lawn and an ambulance that crashed into a brick wall at a local hospital in the same time frame.

The house with the flag was a corner house in the neighborhood in which I grew up. Later that day I heard that a co-worker living there had his son get run over by a mail truck and killed. That was in the days when the U.S. Mail was still a government entity. The ambulance into the brick wall thing happened exactly as the dream depicted. Same hospital, same wall. That was a dream active time for me.

That was when I started getting this notion that 'something was weird'. I remember riding on the back of a friend's motorcycle one night and as we approached an intersection I told him to watch out because 'that car was going to pull out'. He didn't heed my warning and maybe 10 seconds later the car pulled out and he had to slam on the breaks and we were skidding sideways for about 10 yards. He asked 'How did you know that car was going to pull out", I responded 'Uhn uhn know.'

This isn't really a premonition but I saw a buck about to jump a fence onto the road and would have caused an accident with the car next to me. I honked and it stopped, I honked again and it ran back into the woods. The car next to me slowed, thinking I was honking at them.

I don't think they saw the buck. Disaster averted.

I haven't listened to the above video yet. I think I would instinctively try to help people no matter the danger to me. I know my sister-in-law would. She's a nurse and would stop the car in the middle of the night to help someone in need.

I imagine the instinct for self-preservation is stronger with some and the instinct to help is stronger with others.

oh brother ... The way I understand it, Blake was shot dead after a 9-second encounter with the unauthorized 'police', not wounded as Grande states.

Is he kidding ... restore faith in the judicial system? It wasn't the 'winning' side that has a lack of faith, again, that should be viciously obvious to a 'psychologist'.

Is he a psychologist and by definition a philosopher of a 'soft' science or a spokesperson for gun rights? A childlike person walking around brandishing an AR-15 is to be identified as someone wanting to help? Blatantly being encouraged by the 'real' *on scene security forces? Please, this is the problem with society in general, a complete lack of awareness of 'how the other side' views reality. Incidentally, Grande presented a very nice justification for the 'wannabe' helper to shoot a mentally ill rabble rouser to death.

Forgive me for saying so, but this guy is example number one of how white society justifies injustice. Justice is irrelevant in the face of legality based reasoning. This has been my main problem with the 'white man's world' since I was a teenager.

I should also note that Grande's presentation perfectly exemplifies my post about the nature of 'legal consciousness' when applied to different social groups and how it affects American society.

edit: Blake was wounded, shot in the back ~4 times and 5 other wounds ... paralyzed from the waist down, and other grievous injuries. Not surprisingly there are conflicting stories.

Faux News has a beautiful documentary (filmed during the trial) about Rittenhouse, just in watching clips, a golden aura was visible about him. It was breathtaking. Of course, the source of the golden glow was effusive with praise.
