The Democrats have won the Senate, they now have the Presidency, the Senate, and the House. The Triumvirate and all is good. Not so fast!

This kind of setup bothers me a bit because now the right can use their subterfuge to make the Democratic power structure look effete. The right are masters at this kind of machination.

Here's the root of the problem. Democrats are by nature negotiators and compromisers; if they use that approach with Republicans they will take a kick in the gonads. If they come on strong Republicans will call them authoritarian socialist autocratic dictators.

How does one defeat that double-bind conundrum. One doesn't. Appeals to the good sense of the populace has proven to be useless. So, business as usual it is!

We began the era of doubling down on being wrong, or even nuts, way back in the Gingrich years. Some call them the Clinton years. But I was a young adult then and every Republican I knew gave Gingrich and his Congress credit for everything. Not just the economy.

Gingrich did a masterful job of conditioning his followers to just say the same thing over and over again. The GOP became the party of talking points.

Unfortunately, that was a winning strategy. He literally told his followers not to debate. Not to compromise. He said compromise was a bad word.

My brother has always reflected current Republican talking points. So his favorite phrase in those days was, "I don't have time to think. I don't have time to listen."

My parents loved voting by mail. One year my Dad gave me a bunch of grief for not doing the same because it's so much easier. I 'must be crazy' to not vote by mail.

My brother told me that only Democrats stand in line. Republicans don't have time to stand in line. They're too busy making money.

Oh how convenient some folks 'stances' can be.

I'm proud of myself ... I predicted this Trump departure 4-5 years ago and was laughed at for being a moron and needing crayons and cookies compared to the vast knowledge held by the board's denizens. I would think by now they realize how ignorant they actually were. I found it ridiculous from the beginning trying to talk sense to those that knew "all those secret things" ... pffft!

If those folks don't get it together, it won't be long before we see tanks rolling down the street and overhead choppers. I predicted that a week ago. Those idiots might have a different perspective after encountering machine gun fire.
