Now that makes sense. I was getting more distressed at the news reports I was hearing ... jeesh!

This one is from a few days ago. It has earned it's place here due to Beau's comment at 1:21, "This is like finding out that somebody who believes the earth is flat ran some tests and realized it was round. Not a huge surprise."

This one directly addresses the MO of the political right in terms of getting voters to vote against their own interests. It's been a tactic used successfully here throughout my adult life.

The foil (i.e. bogeyman) they use this time is the Secretary of the Interior. They lambast his paternity leave while simultaneously blaming him for the container backup which is a direct result of the "just in time" economy. The one this alternate community has known about since before I ever walked these halls.

    Beau says,

"If you have ever wondered how the Republican Party gets blue collar working class folks to vote against their own interest, this is how they do it. It's a case study."

All members of the White Rose Society were vaccinated. It was never a thing they protested against.

Under Hitler's regime, the vaccination programs were stopped.

    Smallpox included.

Illiterate? Of course! Somebody should fund Beau to do nationally televised commercials. Headline: Fun Fact for the Day. But does rationality have anything to do with anything? Facts and reason are the one thing that people that want to bitch and moan about the state of things will assiduously avoid. It is a double-bind for the entire nation. Facts and reason don't matter and 'me' perception rules their consciousness. I want to bitch and moan about how we have descended into this morass. But also want to back it up with a fact. Social media, human illogic, and propaganda from those that at a level below self-awareness have a death wish. Because they want to rule the world or die! Death before a perceived loss of power!

It is the one power that the supposed powerless have, the power to see the endgame, they have been staring at it since birth.

Psalms 37:11 — “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Here lies an insight into why meekness is seen in Biblical times as a positive trait.
Matthew 5:5 is the fifth verse of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament. It is the third verse of the Sermon on the Mount, and also the third of what are known as the Beatitudes.
    <85 CE>

The Sermon on the Mount has always been my favorite part of the Bible. BOB, the bible thumper.

It seems the only and best way to really sum up the current situation is to refer to THE source of great wisdom.

Rationality is relevant when people value knowledge and critical thought. That isn't valued so much at the moment.

Life has a way of forcing people to look at facts and reason sooner or later.

    Or self-destruct under delusion.

Beau has been really hitting it home in his last several videos. These two go together.

In the first, Beau answers a question from a 'small government' conservative who wants to know how Beau does such a good job predicting what the Republicans will do next.

Beau's answer, "In the last five years I've never asked myself what would a Republican do next. I've asked myself, what would a fascist do next?"

    Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re2-E1cyEwg

In prior videos Beau has talked about the 14 characteristics of fascist regimes. These were observed and written about by Umberto Eco and by Lawrence Britt.

Beau talks in this video about another 14 characteristics, using Umberto Eco as a reference. These characteristics parallel the MAGA movement.

"When you look at the works that have tried to identify the characteristics that all of those regimes shared and you compare it with the current state of the Republican party they all match up."

Beau gets an average of five messages a week, from young adult children around America who are recently unable to communicate with their parents who've gone off the deep end when it comes to labelling things socialism and demeaning long-held values.

Beau reads one of them which hits all the points that he gets regularly in these types of messages.

This one's not about Kyle. It's about Cameron Lamb. He had a fight with his girlfriend. She left. He followed, but then went back home.

A cop saw him, called something in and within minutes a drone was at Cameron's house and shot him dead.

Today, a judge gave a guilty verdict.

Point being, focus on the positive, the progress as well.

    It's not Beau, it's Arthur.

In this episode, Arthur's sister makes up explanations for how the world works and all the neighborhood kids line up to hear and believe.

Her line to skeptics? "Prove it!" But she doesn't listen to proof.

I recalled this episode because it reminds me of where we are now. We're like the kids paying admission to DW's sideshow.

Earth is getting a black box. It will record the state of the environment. Who will open it?
