This is kind of a clunky movie but scary nonetheless, It stayed pretty faithful to the culture of the times.

This is the scariest movie I've seen in decades:

I've not seen the original Papillon with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman yet, but this remake struck me as a great one. Something about the desperation and harshness of prisons, hope and escape into freedom feels compelling. The main actors are quite good too.

Yeah, they look like some good actors...I never thought the original was that big of deal...

I watch this last night and thought it engrossing for the entire movie:

I then started watching this after watching the season ender for Foundation and Invasion and ended up watching 4 episodes of season one. I've been having insomnia lately (insomnia was an interesting movie too):

I just might go see this movie in the theater and maybe that Napoleon movie too. It's very unusual, but this year I've not even once gone to the movie theater. Every year since the beginning of this millenium and end of the 90's I've gone to the movie theaters several times per year with my brother, even in the recent years at least three times if not more. I don't watch movies as much as I used to, watching them home alone has it's advantages too, but with big movies it's quite something else to see them in a big theater with good company.

This movie from Scorsese seems dark and intriguing too. I've not seen his movies from the past decade.

The 1st one, I thought I had seen before, it was a b-rated movie on Prime...very similar in theme and plot actually. The b-movies generally follow the major theater releases. They must have had an inside road. Yeah, I agree for the most part, but I used to go to movies by myself all the time and usually in the multi-screen places, I would typically watch two, if not three. My record was four, but things changed and I only see a movie with my daughter usually on occasion, usually a superhero one (she likes those because it reminds her of her daddy)

I think superhero movies have sort of ruined cinema as there is just too many of them, but perhaps a teenager me would have liked them much more. Back then they were barely starting, certainly there wasn't that Marvel mania like there has been for the past decade or so. However, sometimes there are good ones like the Aquaman. At least when it comes to visually amazing movies.

I agree to an extent...but after I saw the 1st Hulk movie, I remarked that I had been waiting for 40 years to see the Hulk pick up a tank by the snout and throw it into the horizon... My daughter never even liked 'Avatar' when it came out, but she came onboard after awhile. I think the 1st movie she ever acknowledged liking was 'Interstellar'. I'm thinking about watching it again...it was a good movie, but I didn't like it as much as my daughter did. But the genre has been diluted with all of them. DC based movies have never even scratched the surface of what they could offer, no imagination I guess.

I think she likes what's his name...he's a Texan afterall:

This crowdfunded project should interest Chuckie. The first and third season have been shot near Texas.

I've been debating 'when' to watch that...I'm on a mission to find 'good' sci-fi and failing miserably. There was a series that had a '2nd coming' character that I was really enjoying that just disappeared. The FBI was after him because they thought he was a middle eastern terrorist, the rest of the world were thinking he was 'Jesus'. It was cool but I never got to see the end, so I was bummed.
