I've watched several movies in the last few days: The Seventh Day, The Djinn, Iron Sky, at least one other than I can't remember, none of them very good actually but Iron Sky was a satire on Nazi white supremacy and a black astronaut that is part of a crew on a mission to the dark side of the moon. It was pretty funny.

Last week because I was in a hurry I bought a book off the shelf at Walmart by Jim Butcher. It is a best seller but I don't expect much from those after reading one of the works by a contemporary highly popular author. It was exciting but vapid as hell.

Anyway, I finished the 1st book, now feel compelled to buy the next in the series.

This is not a trailer, but it could very well be

I know there are divided opinions about that movie, but i think of this scene as a completely separate thing, i wish a movie had been made about how this guy came to be.... It has to be one of the best scenes ever filmed really

There were several things about this miniseries that really bugged me:

I like westerns a lot, but for some reason I've missed this one.

I've never watched it myself...It never had an 'authentic' feel to me. Perhaps after watching the trailers, I'll change my mind.

Alan Rickman's in it. Might be worth the watch for that.

My daughter got me interested in watching this ... it is very different but keeps developing toward the dark side:

Well. I didn't really know what Wanda Vision was.

I don't know the comics well. And I'm clearly far behind. I like the casting.

I had an idea but it didn't appeal to me. A lot of additions have been made to the Marvel Universe since I gave up comic book reading, as they got too expensive. So my daughter surprisingly to me is head over heels in love with the movie versions. I haven't recognized some of the traditional characters in recent movies partially because the moviemakers actually obscure who they are for some manner of effect. So Scarlet Witch is a traditional character who has been in recent movies as a major character even, but not appearing in traditional garb or even as a named character despite having a powerful influence on the movies. Long story short, they used this series to get viewers up to speed on her character and to bring her to the forefront of Marvel movie characters. They did the same with Captain Marvel. I think my daughter is enamored with the 'girl power' theme.

The series is worth watching, if you have an interest in the movies. I was always a comic expert and my daughter keeps throwing things at me that I either don't remember or am not familiar with so I watch some of this stuff just to keep up with her.

Watched this last night ... I'm pretty neutral on it actually:

    Neutral. Hmmmmm.

Is that a combo of some parts really good, others not so much?

    Is it a believability thing?

I'm curious because it looks interesting but disturbing.

It was more of a 'themic' type movie about child sexual exploitation, Joaquin Phoenix played the prototypical very disturbed adult with a cause. It was compared to Deniro's Taxi Driver. The dialogue was minimal in the form of a 'surreal' manner, like the work of David Warner. Phoenix, of course, is an excellent actor who did his part well, the rest of it was totally underdeveloped. The violence was violent but underexposed in a strange way. It was as if the flow from one scene to another left out parts of the intervening 'motion' and thus made it unrealistic.

This one just seems to go on forever, I've been watching it for two nights. Caveat: This series has a heavy contemporary liberalism bent. If someone perceives a Spring afternoon rain shower as part of the cancel culture they will likely not be able to survive these. Some are really good, they aren't up to the quality of special effects in DUST, but it is a different genre.
