It seems that folks either love or hate it.
Not I, said the Little Red Hen ...

Pacino won an Oscar for his role in Scent of a Woman, he plays a blind man well. Touching and funny too!

"I might have, uh, overcorrected." Ya think?

The producer likes violent movies. I saw John Wick. Tres violent.

ah yes, violence. A major vicarious thrill ... I'm finishing a series of books (I never remember the author's name) that have a reputation for being the best science fiction interplanetary war theme ever. I have to admit the writer is brilliant ... Did you know the average I.Q. of fiction writers is about 160. Several writers don't surprise me in that. Dean Koontz, this guy, a number of others. It is why I enjoy reading it so much ... Does so much for the active imagination ... I've been stealing their ideas for many years ...

I didn't know about the IQ thing, but it may explain the snobbery I've seen regarding hard sci fi v. fantasy or 'soft' science fiction. I've always liked both. No need to be snobby about fantasy. It's not like fantasy lacks epic wars or interesting tech. (in form of magic)

Interesting thought, but yeah, I think you have a point there.

This is one of my favorite Coen movies, superb dialogue. It takes place in Texas in the early 80's.

Anton Chigurh is one of most terrifying psycopaths on the silver screen, a guy who follows his own code.

I immediately took more of a liking to him more than Antonio Banderas ... more depth ... Between that movie and There Will Be Blood I was compelled to watch the Academy Awards. Probably the only year that I've watched it for the last 30 years.

You wanted to smash his head in too? Now that was a disturbing movie, I only saw it once. Maybe will one day watch it again.

No Country for Old Men was shot mostly in Vegas, but Tommy Lee Jones convinced the Coens to film some scenes on location in Texas. While there, in Marfa to be specific, There Will Be Blood was being shot nearby. One day, Paul Thomas Anderson (director of TWBB) and his crew tested the pyrotechnical effects of an oil fire, causing an enormous amount of smoke to intrude on the No Country set. They had to delay filming a day to allow the smoke to dissipate. Both films would eventually become the leading contenders at the Oscars, a year and a half later.

I enjoyed that one, if that is the right word to describe it. One of the better movies about AI, creepy for sure too.
