Not that I would have had my own NDE's in this life, but from what I hear and see it seems that most if not all death is almost always like a release. As a soul I have "died" countless of times as a human being, many of us have. You don't die, your body dies. When your car breaks down you don't say that now your life is over. Unless it was a really expensive Bugatti, but I'm sure you can get over that too.

Ram Dass said it's like taking off an old tight shoe. Some people even seek it although the lesson for souls is that we can't escape our issues and pain via death, not until it's our natural time. Anyway, this Earth realm is like a profoundly difficult school for the evolution of consciousness, it can seem like a nightmarish realm. Yet we have free will, or at least somewhat do and we are free to make choices. If we didn't then there would be no point to any of this as we are not just mere automatons. Despite the harshness of life we can still see the good in it and we can either look at things through gratitude and love or alternatively bitterness, or at worst even through hate. Yet hate is never going to solve anything. We can see that life has lots of pleasant and fun things about it, but also as a contrast there are very many unpleasant, painful things. If love is the greatest power there is then there also is the total absence of it which can feel like hell.

I don't struggle with death because I don't believe in it and I might have still left more than 50 years until I will meet my maker. I will be relieved to be free from suffering, physical, mental and emotional ones. But it's still another thing to struggle with life. Or loss. I suppose from past lives one of my issues is the feeling of losing someone or people, beings close to me. Why does it hurt so much to lose someone you care about so much? It's attachment, but also there's some deep emotional anguish related to it. Which is ironic because I know souls will be fine after leaving this realm. Yet we as people are left behind and being left out is it's own kind of trauma too.

There have been different times or astrological ages for humanity. Some have been worse than others and the themes have been different over eons, sometimes there have been times of high spiritual and technical wisdom. The past two thousand years have been quite dark too spiritually, but it's something that will change. It's about maintaining the balance of energies. The masculine reliance on logic, reasoning and cold hard science must join together with the feminine intuition and creative sensitivity, with nurturing qualities.

Then if that is going to happen a more harmonious world can be created. It's never going to a perfect world on this level of existence, but it doesn't have to be so rough, cruel and hard either. There's always something that is going to be needing improvement, but if there is more harmony overall in society then the solutions will become more naturally too. That would of course require a new way of living and thinking than we currently have. Eckhart Tolle says; "The secret of life is to "die before you die" - and find that there is no death."
I was thinking about this yesterday: How ironic, even cruelly ironic, that we have such a strong survival instinct that is doomed to be squashed in our face.

You can elaborate on that. Our ego is our sense of self as a personality construct and it fights tooth and nail for it's survival.

The Law of One talks about mind, body, spirit complex. Naturally without the body we can't exist here, the mind is the builder of the reality we inhabit and it's also the ego-personality with it's role and experiences while spirit is the soul or divine, eternal aspect of ourself. The most true part of our ourself, even though our personality as it is certainly is a part of us too.

"I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens." ~ Woody Allen

I once watched a movie about Jack "Dr. Death" Kevorkian, who was easing people out of life. Al Pacino was playing him.

Dr. Death...I'm not sure I've ever seen it...maybe...Made for TV?

This NDE just doesn't ring true and somehow I got a less than sincere vibe from the guy...Nothing is certain, but something was different to the 'depth' of the experience.

Well yeah, some stories and people are more compelling than others. This story again had a religious tone to it.

Yeah, I remember that well. In fact I watched it a couple of times.

I hate to say it, but the likehood of that looks more possible as each day passes.

Some things just have to go a certain way. That future would be 10 years from now?

The future is unmanifested potential though. That's why even the most potent seers can't see the exact future, they see the future from the perspective of now. Collective choices now affect the outcome. So I think there always have to be some branching timelines, although certain ones would seem to happen for necessity. Part of soul's agreements, destiny and all. There is no death anyways, so it's just a big theatre play anyways. A play that hurts though. All life is sorrowful, but it can be joyful too.
