Wow, what an amazing story and it makes so much sense. His part about being adopted and his sister that he never met. Man, I get it...

I'm sending it to my daughter right now ...

Quite interesting Christian take on USA here. Remember that the future is never set in stone though.

I'd beg to differ on that. There's some wiggle room for the details, but in essence, it is my experience that the future is very much written in stone. And moreover, Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity confirms this.

Seems that I can predict the future though as I thought you would say that.

I certainly do believe in destiny, but at the same time I have a feeling that our choices, both individual and collective do affect our future which is unmanifested potential. If I make a stupid choice now, then it obviously will affect the outcome of the future, right? If I am mindful and choose a better option then obviously there will be a better outcome? Maybe that too is predestined anyways, but I am not sure and it gets complicated. I'd like to believe that we as a species have the chance to choose a catastrophic option collectively, or a better one which seems to have been prophecised anyways. I however can't believe that our destiny would be complete destruction.

You're both right. Some things are inevitable to a degree but nothing is absolute. There's always some variation in the way things manifest.

I think Kenneth has it wrong. It's not the same sex marriage decision which would spark a civil war. There are those who get worked up over it but it's not a Constitutional issue. It's a personal, moral and religious issue. And there simply aren't enough people who want to overturn the nation over gay marriage.

The Constitutional issue which will cause a civil war will be the overturning of Roe v. Wade. That's an already established Constitutional right which has been shat all over. The nominees have always claimed that it's established law and that they wouldn't overturn it and it will be seen that some of them have lied.

That is a betrayal to the country and the peoples' freedom because it's about privacy and personal rights and one of the most important personal decisions which can be made.

He also brings up the struggle of black people. This is also directly related to possible civil war. You cannot continue to take away rights while claiming to protect freedom and not expect there to be massive fallout.

Suppressing votes, suppressing rights, banning books, arresting librarians, ratting on neighbors, vigilante justice, overturning Constitutional rights, these are the things which lead to civil war.

He was 65 in 2020 and figured that he could live to be 80, that's 13 years left.

I wonder why some people would be allowed to see the future in such detail though.

I believe we all scout ahead into the future. We don't recall because it's too much, too many possibilities, and could interfere with lives being lived and choices being made. Perhaps the teacher entity saw that he would be able to continue to live his purpose with the memories.

We still make choices and they affect how things play out, how we handle them and how we help others. Sometimes that's the important variable. IMO.

wow, Catholic liberal ... I was beginning to think they were gone.

Actually, my impression was that this was more of an alien abduction scenario than an NDE. I'll take the host's word for it though... After all, it was a 'positive' message, at least in a manner of speaking.

In terms of wiggle room, my thought would be that even if all things occur simultaneously it is still our free will decisions which make up the 'grains' of reality. It requires a quantum like view of cosmic consciousness. One is infinitely connected and 'our' limited view is not, we are incrementally forming the past, present, and future. And there is always Heisenberg's Uncertainty Priniciple, us solid folks cannot know all things at once.

Abortion rights ... abortion is a horrible thing in most cases, abortion rights are a good thing in most cases. The right is horrible in all cases ...
