    Of course we choose our parents too as souls, sometimes it just seems strange because not all parents are good.

    "Some children are born from heaven and others are born from hell, because each human being has his inherent tendencies, and these tendencies belong to his spirit, and indicate the state in which he existed before he was born." ~ Paracelsus

    As a true physician he had also this to say about medicine;

    "Medicine is not only a science; it is also an art. It does not consist of compounding pills and plasters; it deals with the very processes of life, which must be understood before they may be guided."

    "Every physician must be rich in knowledge, and not only of that which is written in books; his patients should be his book, they will never mislead him."

    "Men who are devoid of the power of spiritual perception are unable to recognize anything that cannot be seen externally."

    Hate, anger and fear destroy our lives. Love, compassion and forgiveness will heal us collectively too.

    Just had a thought...love = warmth = energy. So, of course, it is compared to love when in the body. It is the closest analogy that a physical body can experience as love. No human senses to filter the experience. As my grade school teachers would say. When you die, you have all the answers.

    I was going to disagree with the long-term memory thing but then it occurred to me that even as the brain deteriorates long-term memory is the last to go...of course, he is correct about the research establishing a broader consciousness as it gets less functional.

    What stood out from that wonderful NDE testimony and others too is that God loves us just the way we are now, not as we should be.

    We place judgment and expectations on ourselves and religions have made it even worse with their judgments and fear-mongering.

    We just have to ignore most of it, because it is not of God, but those that are stuck in that mindset.

    I still maintain that people who experience an NDE will experience it according to the mythology and belief systems that they have been indoctrinated with, and which they as such subconsciously have come to believe to be true, even if they have consciously decided that it cannot be true for this or that reason, and/or have turned away from their religious upbringing for other reasons — for instance, the people who have "unbaptized" themselves after the sexual child abuse within the Catholic Church and the Church's cover-up of it came to light, or people who've been baptized and who went through all the rituals, but then as adults proclaim themselves atheists, or who convert to Islam, or Buddhism, or whatever.

    The Creator does not love, because it does not even know what love is. The Creator is an abstract consciousness field that has created all kinds of Yin/Yang polarities — including the distinction between Self and Other — in order to explore its own infinite potential. After all, there is, has always been, and will forever be nothing other than the Creator. We are all only figments of its imagination.

    One of those Yin/Yang polarities is the distinction between good and evil. They are two sides of the same coin, and either one cannot exist without the other. Therefore, they both come from the same Creator, and they both serve their purpose of setting the scene(s) for the subjective experience that each of the aspects of Creation exists in, so that they give meaning to the different creative manifestations of the Creator's infinite potential.

    The tenacious idea of a loving Creator stems from organized religions — mostly Christianity, and what the Roman Catholic Church made of it. A loving god would not allow evil to roam free as it does, and if it loves — or conversely, if it feels repulsion — then it's not a god. Angels, maybe, yes.
