    People are weird, man.

yeah, it's hard for me to tell when I'm supposed to be crazy. It's like if you smoke pot a lot, sometimes you wonder if you're high or not.

The situation in India is getting worse by the day. We have yet another mutation that is deadlier AND more infectious than all previous ones. As we have pointed out many times on this thread, that is not how a normal virus is supposed to behave and I fear this may become a permanent feature of our lives. We may get yet another deadlier and more infectious variant every couple of months.

I have a friend in Delhi, who tells me people are dying all over the place, most families have someone who is seriously ill or has already died. Hospitals haven't been accepting patients for days now and people are just dying in cars or on the pavement outside hospitals. Real number of deaths are supposedly 30 times higher than the official numbers.

Here in central Europe, restrictions are being eased and there is a gradual reopening taking place, but right now, it seems premature.

    Also, I have vaccine regret...

If I'd waited just a few more days, I could have gotten the Pfizer Vaccine, which is the one with the most impressive technology behind it and offers the best protection against all variants, including the recent mutations.

Still, I'm hoping that the fact I already had antibodies from my previous infection and basically now have a booster shot with the sinopharm vaccine, will keep me safe.

I hope the vaccine does provide you protection, Chris. You are affirming my personal intent which is to remain careful even after vaccination. I don't really expect things to 'go back to normal' since this is part of a new normal.

Yeah, it seems CV will stay with us forever, like Influenza. Maybe it will become seasonal and we will need twice-yearly inoculations. Kinda sucks, but at least we have something to fight it with.

I also received my immunity passport in the post a few months back, based on my recovery from Covid, but it expires soon. Should get a new one after my first inoculation with the Sinopharm Vaccine. Problem is, since I got the Chinese Vaccine, my immunity card won't be accepted in the EU, so I won't be able to travel, only to a few countries, like Slovenia and Serbia.

The good thing is, that here in Hungary, an immunity passport opens things up considerably. I can now sit inside a restraurant or cafe, go to a cinema, a thermal bath, concert, hoteé or pretty much do anything I like. The worrying implication is that those without one are essentially treated like second-class citizens, they are still forbidden from doing all of the above.

A new study examines neurological issues associated with Covid-19.

Patients with clinically diagnosed neurological symptoms associated with COVID-19 are six times more likely to die in the hospital than those without the neurological complications, according to an interim analysis from the Global Consortium Study of Neurologic Dysfunction in COVID-19 (GCS-NeuroCOVID).
A paper published today in JAMA Network Open presents early results of the global effort to gather information about the incidence, severity and outcomes of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 disease.

Well, that first shot didn't end up going so well.

Not exactly sure what happened, but I ended up getting a huge swelling in my left arm, where I got the shot, it just kept growing and wouldn't stop. I ended up having to go into minor surgery to remove all the puss that was building up inside. Unfortunately, the doc wasn't able to remove all of it and I have to go back on monday for a more thorough surgical procedure, to remove everything that's built up in there. The amount of, blood, puss and everything else he already removed, was impressive.

I'm really not sure what happened, maybe it got infected or there was an unusually strong immune response, because I've already had covid.

For two weeks prior to that, I wasn't feeling great, but I assumed it was just the immune response to the vaccination. Sinopharm uses whole, inactivated Covid-19 viruses, unlike the other manufacturers, who use more sophisticated and targeted methods. The advantage of the Sinopharm shot, is that it gives a wider protection, in that it doesn't just train the immune system to recognise the spike proteins, it also trains it to recognise and fight other characteristics of the virus. I wonder, if the use of whole viruses would create a stronger immune response in someone who has already had the infection. That's my best guess for now, but I haven't seen any studies.

Might have been a reaction to your diabetes ... In my 1st shot, my arm hurt for quite a while. In the 2nd shot, I might have had some mild covid symptoms. Between my stress levels and covid symptoms, it is just hard to tell.

Wow, Chris. I'm so sorry to hear about your arm. That's terrible. I hope you're able to heal fully and have no more such events.

I'm one of those people who won't get the shot and I'm not going to risk it with my CFS and immune system, otherwise I keep myself protected and others too. I've already suffered plenty and had issues in my life, that's going to be my decision. It's quite different from my family members. I hate needles anyways. Chris, I hope you will recover from that, if you need help with energy healing I can do that.

On a side note, I watched a presentation last night of a session between a psychiatrist and a young lady that has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. It is worth watching. Pretty girl, highly intelligent, but terminally angry at her mother and in mourning for her father. She had been through a good amount of therapy - DBT - and had a great deal of insight. She seemed really sweet ... but she said she had no, meaning zero control of her anger response and was truly frightened by it. It was really interesting and enlightening. It was an hour-long and I think she has two other filmed sessions by another psychiatrist. She was an excellent subject to garner an interested following.
Just like my ex, they are almost as dangerous as narcs and made from the same false self "elements". Not sure what that has to do with the coronavirus other than them being parasites though so maybe you can post about that somewhere else or make a thread about it.

I've had Covid-19 twice, only six months apart, almost down to the day. And that means that immunity is only guaranteed to about six months.

Yesterday, I watched a video by Rob Chapman, a British guitarist who currently lives in Malta, which is where his wife is from. The video was not about Covid-19 ─ it was just an update on what he had been up to and what he was planning to do with regard to his musical career, and it was filmed with a GoPro on the dashboard of his car while he was driving. In passing, Rob said that he had gotten his AstraZeneca shot because he believes it was the right thing to do, but that he was very sick with flu-like symptoms for several days. It was so bad that he could barely get up, he said.

That, and the facts that (1) I've had Covid-19 twice, that (2) I barely ever go out the door ─ once a week to go shopping and once every fortnight to have dinner at my brother's place ─ and (3) that our government is going to go ahead with a corona pass for those who've had the vaccine, and is thus creating an artificial caste system where one caste has privileges that the other caste does not have ─ and this is coming from a socialist minister, no less! ─ have all made me decide that I am not going to get the shots.

I may still be at risk of catching Covid-19 again ─ as I did twice in 2020 ─ but I know I am not at risk of infecting other people because of my social isolation and my sense of responsibility ─ I completely sequestered myself for two weeks on both occasions that I had the disease, and I'm also virtually the only person who disinfects their shopping kart and their hands at the entrance of the supermarket. But I'm not going to get myself sick with Covid-19 again by getting the vaccine.

My brother isn't going to get the vaccine either, but that's because he's been listening to the denialists too much.

I'm fairly sure that I had Covid-19 once or twice last year too, there was months apart from me being sick. First in the spring and then during the fall. I was sick for months, but my immune system isn't the best anyways. The symptoms were unpleasant and not normal at all, but nothing too serious anyways. When I had an influenza five years ago, now that was bad.

No worries. It's just a minor procedure, so I should be fine. However, if you never hear from me again, you'll know what happened...
