It's going to be fun, in a macabre way, watching Rudy throw Trump under the bus while he does the same. Trump's already wavering over whether Rudy is really his lawyer. Soon Trump will be saying he really doesn't know Rudy that well.

    Operations
Burisma is focused to the operations in Ukraine with additional activities in Germany, Mexico, Italy, and Kazakhstan.[12] It holds 35 gas production licences in Ukraine in Dnipro-Donets, Carpathian and Azov-Kuban basins. In addition to the natural gas exploration and production, Burisma provides also gaswell services, including hydraulic fracturing. In Kharkiv, Burisma plans to build an LPG plant with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year.

In 2016, Burisma Group was the second largest privately owned gas producer in Ukraine after DTEK. It accounted 26% of all natural gas produced by privately owned gas producers and more than 5% of total annual gas production in Ukraine. According to the company, it produced 1.3 billion cubic metres (4.6×1010 cubic feet) of natural gas in Ukraine in 2018.

In Kazakhstan, the company has provided drilling services to KazMunaiGas and its subsidiaries, including at the Urikhtau gas field. In Italy, Burisma develops three geothermal power projects in partnership with Gesto Investimento e Gestão.

    Burisma:

Burisma's subsidiaries include Esko–Pivnich, Pari, First Ukrainian Oil and Gas Company, Naftogaz Garant, KUB–Gas and Astroinvest–Ukraine. Esko–Pivnich operates in the Kharkiv Oblast and Pari operates in Western Ukraine (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi oblasts). KUB–Gas operates in Luhansk Oblast. Burisma also owned KrymTopEnergoServis, a company which leased three gas deposits in Crimea. However, after annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation KrymTopEnergoServis became nonoperational.

What To Know About The Ukrainian Company At The Heart Of Trump's Biden Allegations

Burisma Group, a Ukrainian energy company, keeps a low profile. This building, which houses the offices of a Burisma subsidiary, is located in a residential part of the country's capital of Kyiv.

Burisma Group, the Ukrainian energy company where former Vice President Joe Biden's son once served on the board of directors, keeps a low profile. Although the company advertises itself as one of Ukraine's largest private natural gas producers, it is almost impossible to find.

On its website, Burisma lists an address in Cyprus, and in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, the company's offices are ensconced inside a nondescript, five-story business center in a residential neighborhood.

The company has come into focus following President Trump's repeated requests to Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden for possible "corruption" during his five years as a Burisma director. Trump has also accused Joe Biden of having used his position as vice president to fire the Ukrainian prosecutor in charge of investigating Burisma.

The revelation last week that Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to open an investigation into one of his top political rivals led Democratic lawmakers to launch a presidential impeachment inquiry.

In fact, Burisma and its owner, Mykola Zlochevsky, did not get any exceptional treatment. The prosecutor Biden singled out in 2016, Viktor Shokin, failed to make any high-level corruption convictions — as did Yuriy Lutsenko, his successor. At the time, Ukrainian anti-corruption activists and other Western governments joined Biden in his criticism of Shokin, and Ukrainian prosecutors have said there is no indication that Hunter Biden did anything wrong.

On Friday, Ruslan Ryaboshapka, Ukraine's newly appointed chief prosecutor, told reporters his office will review all investigations shelved by his predecessors, including those involving Burisma and Zlochevsky. Those investigations were into activities that took place before Hunter Biden joined the board in 2014.

"It's more about ethics. If the son of a top politician receives some payments from a company for whatever reason, there's always a conflict of interests," says Alexander Paraschiy, the head of research at Concorde Capital, an investment firm in Kyiv.

Hunter Biden was paid about $50,000 a month as a Burisma director, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"It usually is a good investment for any Ukrainian businessman to hire some reputable guy or the relative of a reputable guy. It definitely paid off for Mr. Zlochevsky," says Paraschiy.

Zlochevsky expanded Burisma at the same time when he was Ukraine's environment minister, whose duties included issuing drilling licenses. After the bloody revolution on Kyiv's streets five years ago, Zlochevsky — like disgraced President Viktor Yanukovych — fled Ukraine.

Amid the political turmoil in Kyiv, Russia annexed Crimea and fomented an armed insurgency in eastern Ukraine. But hopes were high that the new Ukrainian government would at least start uprooting endemic corruption.

Burisma faced a money-laundering investigation and questions over how it had obtained some of its licenses to drill for natural gas. In spring 2014, the company appointed Hunter Biden and a former Polish president, Aleksander Kwasniewski, to its board. Three years later, Burisma added Cofer Black, a former CIA official and foreign policy adviser to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, to the board.

"I believe the only reason Burisma and Zlochevsky were inviting people with such names was to whitewash their reputation and to present themselves as a company doing legitimate business in Ukraine," says Daria Kaleniuk, head of the nongovernmental Anti-Corruption Action Center in Kyiv.

The Zlocci shop features collections of flashy men's shoes made from crocodile and caiman skins arranged on two polished marble tables. In 2015, investigative reporters traced the ownership of the business to Zlochevsky.

As a privately owned company, Burisma is not required to publicize its annual results. In a recent presentation for investors, it says it more than doubled its hydrocarbon production since 2013 and paid more than $240 million in taxes over the previous two years.

In an upbeat 2017 promotional video, Burisma presents itself as an energy company looking to expand beyond Ukraine's borders. Photographs of Hunter Biden and the other four board members appear over the company's "key corporate governance principles: leadership, efficiency, remuneration and transparency."

But for a company with global ambitions, Burisma is hardly transparent in dealing with media. Reporters' requests for comment are summarily ignored. Alexander Gorbunenko, the chief financial officer at Burisma when Hunter Biden served on the board, declined to comment to NPR, saying to do so would be "unethical."

Zlochevsky's whereabouts are unknown, and he and his company are invisible in Kyiv. One of the few signs of the elusive energy tycoon is a boutique on the ground floor of an upscale apartment building on the Dnieper River.

The Zlocci shop features collections of flashy men's shoes made from crocodile and caiman skins arranged on two polished marble tables. A pair of low-cut crocodile boots goes for more than $3,700, while blue pony-hair sneakers cost almost $800. An attentive salesman offers a 30% discount and home delivery.

Even though the Zlocci website says the outfitter is Spanish, a journalistic investigation in 2015 traced the ownership to Zlochevsky. A promotional video — in Ukrainian — shows a model wearing Zlocci shoes in the port of Monaco, where Zlochevsky has been hosting an annual international energy conference since 2016.

"One of the reasons that I am proud to be a member of the board at Burisma is that I believe we are trying to figure out the way to create a radical change in the way we look at energy," Hunter Biden says in undated remarks on the conference website.

Zlochevsky's event has featured such speakers as Prince Albert II of Monaco; Romano Prodi, a former Italian prime minister; Joschka Fischer, a former German foreign minister; and other past and present luminaries from European and U.S. politics.

Zlochevsky also continues to buy favor with his support for the Atlantic Council, a Washington think tank.

Kurt Volker, who resigned last week as the Trump administration's special representative for Ukraine, is a senior adviser to the Atlantic Council. Volker's role in the administration's communications with Ukraine's new government is now under scrutiny in Congress.

In September 2018, Vadym Pozharskiy, an adviser to Burisma's board, attended Atlantic Council events in New York and met with Volker and former State Department officials, according to the company's website. Pozharskiy did not reply to repeated requests for comment by NPR.

Hunter Biden, for his part, no longer works for Burisma.

He left the company earlier this year as his father was launching his presidential campaign.

Tucker is not a trustworthy sort. Going back to setting up John Stewart and then crapping all over him, he had already established himself as a d-bag. Tucker gets as little of my attention as possible.

John is still fighting for the 9/11 responders as he has been for quite some time. Where are all the folks who were crying to support the troops and the first responders? They love to say that freedom isn't free while betraying those who actually paid the cost.

NAP, I wonder how much of your post is covered in Rachel Maddow's new book about the oil industry? The tentacles reach far and wide.

Both Trump and Giuliani are Russian mafia. Glen Beck is nuts. Hunter Biden is a highly trained finance attorney and Giuliani is psychotic AND most of the sane world recognizes that. Seriously...

Rudy Giuliani has revealed some of what he discovered on his trip to the Ukraine, unraveling a conspiracy theory alleging the U.S. Embassy – led by then-Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch – 'quashed' efforts by Kiev to end a corruption investigation into the disappearance of foreign aid because it was going to a non-governmental organization run by billionaire George Soros.
Giuliani, Donald Trump's personal attorney, unveiled his findings in an interview with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk for his podcast, a copy of which was obtained by DailyMail.com.
He told Kirk he has told President Trump of his findings.
'I have notified the president of that,' he said in the 30-minute interview, which will b

The former New York City mayor described how he discovered that back in 2017 an organization he called the 'Ukrainian accounting authority' did a study, found $5.3 billion in foreign aid missing and attempted to investigate it.
He claimed the U.S. - then under the Obama administration - moved to 'quash' the probe.
'All of the sudden, members of the American Embassy, under control of Marie Yovanovitch, I call her Saint Marie Yovanovitch, come and tell them [the Ukrainians] – come and tell them – 'there's no need to do this, we're okay with the spending.'
He added: 'It comes down from the top not to investigate.'
Yovanovitch was appointed ambassador to the Ukraine by President Obama in 2016. Trump recalled her in April 2019 after a smear campaign led by Giuliani.
Giuliani traveled to the Ukraine earlier this month as House Democrats heated up their impeachment investigation into President Trump.
Giuliani went on to explain why the embassy 'quashed' the Ukraine probe about corruption in their government, laying out his unproven allegation that the money was being funneled to non-governmental organizations run by George Soros and his children.
Soros is a frequent topic of conspiracy theories - usually involving his Jewish heritage. He's donated billions to his philanthropic agency, the Open Society Foundations, is a mega-donor to the Democratic Party, and a boogeyman for conservatives.

Giuliani offered no proof of his allegations and he's sought to blame on Soros in previous media appearances - pushing theories the billionaire businessman funded Ukrainian efforts to interfere in the 2016 election.
President Trump and Giuliani have both pushed the unproven theory that it was the Ukraine, and not Russia, that interfered in the 2016 contest. U.S. intelligence agencies found it was Moscow who interfered.
Soros' philanthropy does do work in the Ukraine but his organization has said it does work in all former Soviet bloc countries to help them transition to democracy.
Dailymail.com reached out to Open Society Foundations for comment.
Giuliani, in his interview with Kirk, was insistent it was Soros behind the Ukrainian corruption - with American help.
'The money was being given out to the embassy and you know who it was being given to – not to the government, but the NGOs. Who were the NGOs?' Giuliani said.
'Soros and the children of Soros,' he said dramatically. 'Left wing, further left wing, socialists, anarchists, communists.'
He went on to rail that it was a 'complete corrupt scheme quashed by our embassy.'
Giuliani claimed his findings justified President Trump's July 25 conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
'It totally justifies that first part of his conversation with Zelensky about the unaccountability of the spending of the money. People in the Ukraine told me to thank the president for being the first president to challenge the corruption. They said we need America to challenge the corruption when Obama wouldn't do it and Bush wouldn't do it since you Americans participated in it we thought it was okay with them,' he said.
Giuliani claimed the U.S. squashed a Ukrainian investigation into the disappearance of money because the funds were going to billionaire George Soros
Giuliani talked to Turning Points USA founder Charlie Kirk for his podcast; Kirk (far left) is seen above ahis conference with Donald Trump Jr, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Laura Ingraham
Donald Trump piles on the praise for Rudy Giuliani

Giuliani associates also have pushed unproven conspiracy theory involving the Ukraine and Soros but this is the first time the former mayor has laid out specific ties to the U.S. embassy and Yovanovitch, who Giuliani ran a smear campaign to have her removed from her post.
Former Trump deputy National Security Adviser Fiona Hill, in her testimony on Capitol Hill during the impeachment investigation, compared the smear campaign to 'the new Protocols of the Elders of Zion.'
Giuliani has previously asserted - falsely - that Yovanovitch was working for Soros and that Soros' organization fabricated evidence against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort to get him convicted.
Republican lawyer Joseph diGenova, who helped Giuliani with his work in the Ukraine, claimed to Fox News last month that Soros controls parts of the State Department and FBI and of using 'every lever of the United States government' to take over Ukraine.
'Well, there's no doubt that George Soros controls a very large part of the career Foreign Service at the United States State Department. He also controls the activities of FBI agents overseas who work for NGOs, work with NGOs. That was very evident in Ukraine,' he told Lou Dobbs.
'The bottom line is this, George Soros wants to run Ukraine and he's doing everything he can to use every lever of the United States government to make that happen, for business interests, not for good government business,' he added.
Giuliani spoke to Kirk's organization on Thursday at its annual gathering in West Palm Beach, Florida. It's unclear what date the podcast was taped.
Turning Point USA is a conservative nonprofit that hosts gatherings for college students and high schoolers.
In the podcast, former mayor also brought up former Vice President Joe Biden, alleging he and other unnamed Democratic politicians have made millions out of the Ukraine.
'We've got Democratic politicians in this country who have made a fortune – it isn't just Joe Biden,' he said.
'A couple of their sons and husbands have taken in millions and more than millions. This is monetarizing public office and the game is, don't give me the hundred million, give it to my son because that's not on a financial disclosure form. But if you know it's being done for that purpose, it's bribery,' he added.
Trump and Giuliani allege Biden - as vice president - pushed the Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor to help a gas company that had his son Hunter Biden on its board.
Biden denies the charges and pointed out he was following U.S. and international policy.

If Trump and Rudy are innocent and squeaky clean they should be chomping at the bit to have witnesses testify.

Instead, Trump has claimed executive privilege which doesn't exist. He's hiding. He acts guilty. He doth protest and divert too much.

It's weird how folks think that pointing the finger at the opposition's activities magically exonerates their own selves.

    Magical thinking.
