    Question

Things have become devalued to the point where people don't realize the repercussions, that they're devaluing themselves. It could end up bringing about chaos, a lawless situation.

Paul Levy discusses the 2020 Coronavirus Crisis and the deeper psychological and spiritual origins of the virus.

For almost twenty years, Levy has been writing about an insidious, invisible virus spreading and replicating itself throughout the human species. This deadly disease is a virus of the mind that cultivates and feeds on fear and separation. It is a true game-changer for us to recognize that the Coronavirus is literally a materialization in our world of the previously invisible virus that exists deep within the collective unconscious of humanity. What is playing out in Covid-19 can help us begin to see the deeper underlying pandemic - a collective psychological infection - that has been wreaking havoc on our species behind the scenes and beneath our awareness from time immemorial.

One of the real dangers of the current pandemic is for us to feel helpless, overwhelmed with despair, impending doom and pessimism, a state which cuts us off from our agency and creative power. Strangely enough, the hardest of the hard sciences - quantum physics - comes to our aid as medicine to protect us from this psychological danger. A little insight into the essence of what quantum physics reveals to us can be the best anti-depressant imaginable. By revealing that we live in a thoroughly quantum universe, quantum physics is literally placing the keys to our future in our own hands. The question is, do we know how to wisely use the gift that is being freely offered to us?

Paul Levy discusses his book Dispelling Wetiko -- Breaking the Curse of Evil.

There is a contagious psycho-spiritual disease of the human soul, a parasite of the mind, that is currently manifesting itself in the form of unprecedented conflicts and crises on a global scale. This collective psychosis or mental virus -- which Native Americans have called wetiko - covertly operates through the unconscious blind spots in the human psyche, rendering us oblivious to our own madness and compelling us to act against our own best interests.

Wetiko distorts our perceptions by stealth and subterfuge, acting through us while simultaneously remaining hidden. Unconstrained by conventional laws of time and space, this 'bug' in the system deceives us by working with the projective tendencies of our mind to appear external to and other than ourselves. Thus, the conflicts and crises which threaten the collapse of political, social and economic systems, and perhaps even of the biosphere itself, are nothing less than a revelation of our own internal darkness, the side of our nature that we all too often deny. Quantum physics is now revealing to us the dreamlike nature of reality and, as with our dreams at night, events in the so-called waking world are symbolically reflecting a condition deep within the psyche of humanity.

Drawing on insights from Jungian psychology, shamanism, alchemy, spiritual wisdom traditions, and personal experience, Levy shows us that hidden within the venom of wetiko is both a profound truth and an antidote, which once recognized can help us awaken and restore sanity to society. Whether wetiko destroys our species or catalyses a deeper process of global awakening depends upon recognizing what it is revealing to us about ourselves.

Paul Levy is a pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence and an innovator in the field of dreaming. A Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over thirty years, he has studied with some of the greatest spiritual masters of Tibet and Burma. He is the author of The Madness of George W Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis, as well as Wetiko: The Greatest Epidemic Sickness Known to Humanity.

Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name

"Killing in the Name" has been described as "a howling, expletive-driven tirade against the ills of American society." The uncensored version contains the word "fuck" 17 times. The song builds in intensity, as Zack de la Rocha chants the line "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me", murmuring the line the first four times, building in a crescendo the next four times and screaming angrily the line the final eight times culminating with De La Rocha's screaming "Motherfucker!" The song alludes to the history of US police forces being a white supremacist organization such as the Ku Klux Klan, whose symbol is the burning cross. The BBC News website refers to it as railing against "the military–industrial complex, justifying killing for the benefit of, as the song puts it, the chosen whites." The song reflects the racial tensions that exist in the United States; it was released six months after the Los Angeles Riots, which were triggered by the acquittal of four white police officers who beat black motorist Rodney King."

    Meanwhile over the weekend ...

President Donald Trump walks across the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on Saturday, May 30

    Trump taken to private bunker
    during Friday protests outside
    White House

WASHINGTON — Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker on Friday night as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades.

Trump spent nearly an hour in the bunker, which was designed for use in emergencies like terrorist attacks, according to a Republican close to the White House who was not authorized to publicly discuss private matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The account was confirmed by an administration official who also on condition of anonymity.

The abrupt decision by the agents underscored the rattled mood inside the White House, where the chants from protesters in Lafayette Park could be heard all weekend and Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers struggled to contain the crowds.

Friday’s protests were triggered by the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after he was pinned at the neck by a white Minneapolis police officer. The demonstrations in Washington turned violent and appeared to catch officers by surprise. They sparked one of the highest alerts on the White House complex since the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001

“The White House does not comment on security protocols and decisions,” said White House spokesman Judd Deere. The Secret Service said it does not discuss the means and methods of its protective operations. The president’s move to the bunker was first reported by The New York Times.

The president and his family have been shaken by the size and venom of the crowds, according to the Republican. It was not immediately clear if first lady Melania Trump and the couple’s 14-year-old son, Barron, joined the president in the bunker. Secret Service protocol would have called for all those under the agency’s protection to be in the underground shelter.

Trump has told advisers he worries about his safety, while both privately and publicly praising the work of the Secret Service.

Trump traveled to Florida on Saturday to view the first manned space launch from the U.S. in nearly a decade. He returned to a White House under virtual siege, with protesters — some violent — gathered just a few hundred yards away through much of the night.

Demonstrators returned Sunday afternoon, facing off against police at Lafayette Park into the evening.

Trump continued his effort to project strength, using a series of inflammatory tweets and delivering partisan attacks during a time of national crisis.

As cities burned night after night and images of violence dominated television coverage, Trump’s advisers discussed the prospect of an Oval Office address in an attempt to ease tensions. The notion was quickly scrapped for lack of policy proposals and the president’s own seeming disinterest in delivering a message of unity.

Trump did not appear in public on Sunday. Instead, a White House official who was not authorized to discuss the plans ahead of time said Trump was expected in the coming days to draw distinctions between the legitimate anger of peaceful protesters and the unacceptable actions of violent agitators.

On Sunday, Trump retweeted a message from a conservative commentator encouraging authorities to respond with greater force.

“This isn’t going to stop until the good guys are willing to use overwhelming force against the bad guys,” Buck Sexton wrote in a message amplified by the president.

In recent days security at the White House has been reinforced by the National Guard and additional personnel from the Secret Service and the U.S. Park Police.

On Sunday, the Justice Department deployed members of the U.S. Marshals Service and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration to supplement National Guard troops outside the White House, according to a senior Justice Department official. The official could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Trump Fumes Over Bunker & Bible Photo Op -
    Jimmy Kimmel’s Quarantine Monologue

In tonight’s #JimmyKimmelLiveFromHisHouse monologue, Jimmy talks about his kids, the protests, charges finally being filed against the three police officers who stood by and did nothing while their fellow officer ended George Floyd’s life, Trump getting his Bible thumped for his obvious photo op, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper speaking about the events that unfolded, the “reason” Trump really went to the underground bunker in the White House, the possible return of the NBA, and we created a PSA that any business can use when they return to work. Jimmy is making a donation to a worthwhile cause every day during this quarantine. Today our guest Regina King chose Black Lives Matter. Please help them fight for freedom, liberation and justice.

Continuing with the law and order theme...

Aaron Torgalski Accused of Shoving Man in Buffalo, New York Police Video

Aaron Torgalski pushed an elderly man who was trying to return an officers helmet he found clearly. Torgalski was clearly abusing his power as a police officer for NO REASON. Other officers were encouraging officer Torgalski to push him. The push was strong enough to make the old man fall backwards and crack his head and start bleeding. Aaron Torgalski should not be in control of our safety! This man does not deserve a badge! This man should not be allowed to hold a gun and carry out the law! Fire him! And the others invovled (sic)!!! If we get enough people to sign they can’t ignore us. They should be fired! This man makes $80,000 a year to push an old man who did not provoke him. END POLICE BRUTALITY.
    Elderly man pushed to ground
    by Buffalo police starts
    bleeding from head

"A Buffalo police officer was caught on video shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground, causing him to bang his head on the sidewalk and start bleeding from the back of skull.

The video shows the elderly man, wearing a face mask, walk up to a line of riot-gear clad police officers near the City Hall building soon after a curfew went into effect on Thursday.

The officers shout out to the man to move back, then one of them pushes him, causing him to stumble backward and slam his head into the pavement, according to the video.

One of the cops then bends down to check on him, but other officers pull him away and call for a medic.

Blood then starts to pour from the back of the man’s head and his ears.

“He’s bleeding out of his ears!” a bystander shouts.

“You better get an ambulance for him,” another voice could be heard saying on the video.

The man was rushed to nearby hospital by medics who responded and is in serious but stable condition, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said. Two officers involved in the incident have been suspended without pay, he added.

“I was deeply disturbed by the video, as was Buffalo Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood,” Brown said in a statement.

“He directed an immediate investigation into the matter, and the two officers have been suspended without pay,” he added.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a tweet he agreed the cops should be suspended.

“This incident is wholly unjustified and utterly disgraceful,” Cuomo tweeted.

“I’ve spoken with Buffalo @MayorByronBrown and we agree that the officers involved should be immediately suspended pending a formal investigation. Police Officers must enforce — NOT ABUSE — the law,” he added.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said in a tweet Thursday night that the footage “sickens” him.

“I’ve seen videos of the incident in front of Buffalo’s City Hall in which an older protester appears to have been shoved by police, fell backwards and suffered a serious head injury,” he wrote.

“It sickens me. I’ve confirmed he is at ECMC in stable condition. My thoughts are with him now,” he added.

The incident happened soon after a protest finished in the area where five people were arrested."

"Video captured by WBFO on June 4, 2020 show two Buffalo police officers shoving a man to the ground during a protest in front of City Hall, causing an injury that left him bleeding from his head. The two officers have been suspended without pay and a full Internal Affairs investigation has been ordered. The man who was shoved was in stabled condition at ECMC in Buffalo as of Thursday night."

The Bible was upside down, eh? Now that's symbolic.

It doesn't look like it was really upside down, though.

A lightening strike is certainly symbolic.

The South didn't exactly love Lincoln which is why the southerners were Democrats for so long. Weird that Trump keeps invoking Lincoln. But then things are turned on their head now, aren't they?

I believe the lightning strike thing occurred at St. Peter's Basilica during the transition of the papacy also...fitting symbolism.

Strictly speaking, no; their job is to protect and serve the law. There's a difference.
