As the unprecedented times continue into the new year, the world is taking on some seriously strange obsessions. Like hijab wearing cats, buying pigeons for millions of dollars. Or stitching sweaters for genitals. When will the madness end! Possibly never.

The improbable life of Mike Nichols
CBS Sunday Morning
Director and comedian Mike Nichols arrived in the U.S. as a child refugee from Nazi Germany, and he went on to become a Tony- and Oscar-winning master of both stage and screen, with such classics as "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "The Graduate," and "Silkwood."
Correspondent Mo Rocca talks with biographer Mark Harris and actress Candice Bergen about Nichols, the outsider who became a Hollywood and Broadway A-Lister, mining real life for comedic and dramatic gold.

Jeremy Smith - Coronavirus Crisis -
A Spiritual Scientific Perspective
LegaliseFreedom1
Feb 1, 2021Any attempt to truly understand the COVID-19 pandemic from a purely materialistic standpoint will inevitably fail. The strictly scientific lens through which most of us view our current predicament says nothing about the psycho-spiritual aspects which hold the key to what is really happening. Whatever the origins of the virus, however, the global response to it represents an assault on social fabric, civil liberties, and on consciousness itself. It is just one front of a multi-faceted attack on human beings and all life on Earth that we are living through.
Is it possible that something much deeper, darker, and more profound than we dare imagine is unfolding? The time when human progress was made possible through the constant refinement of physical forces is already over. In the future, mankind will progress, but only through spiritual development. Are we even capable of learning the lesson that is now being taught?

If you're asking me ─ well, you're not, but I'm going to say it anywayAny attempt to truly understand the COVID-19 pandemic from a purely materialistic standpoint will inevitably fail.
Is it possible that something much deeper, darker, and more profound than we dare imagine is unfolding?─ then it is very likely that the coronavirus pandemic is just nature's way of striking back at, if not getting rid of, the one species that's has been and still is destroying nature.
I seriously doubt it.The time when human progress was made possible through the constant refinement of physical forces is already over. In the future, mankind will progress, but only through spiritual development. Are we even capable of learning the lesson that is now being taught?![]()

Humanity needed a good kick in the nuts, but unfortunately it seems that it wasn't strong enough. There's more to come.

Yes, i agree pretty much with both above responses ... And your remakes due strike to the core of this human/world dilemma ... And i am intuitively driven (to believe) this global crisis is surely a selective human/species weeding out process (whether via nature or by intentional human hands) though still not sure yet?
Individual spiritual development (from my perspective) is a very personal process, and appears to have no limits on time spent on one's enlightenment path. As much as i have wished (and still pray) for a mass unison human awakening, my intuition again leads me to believe (currently if ever) this might be improbable.
But i do believe we (those of us that accept that conscientiousness is a vital communication mechanism) owe it to our existing circumstances to continue to pursue a peaceful/beneficial process for all lifeforms on this planet to exist ... Otherwise our situation (no matter where we might go) is doomed ...
Though still there is for some ...
hope springs eternal
proverb People can always find a reason to hope, even in the bleakest situations. The phrase is a shortening of the line "Hope springs eternal in every human breast," from Alexander Pope's poem Essay on Man. We don't know how this business venture will work out, but hope springs eternal, right?
