The flaw with all identity politics is that it relies on exclusionary rhetoric. Black vs white, liberal vs conservative, gay vs straight, ad nauseum. Defining oneself "as" an "ism" is dehumanization. It slices the consciousness into finite slivers to be exhibited and exploited by clever puppeteers who want to keep you from the soulistic being you are created to be.

''Now is the winter of our discontent''

    Soliloquy by Laurence Olivier

‘Now is the winter of our discontent’ opens a quite stunning soliloquy by the young Richard, Duke of Gloucester in the opening line of Shakespeare’s Richard III play more here

that takes me back to the days when I was asked to be a 'Choral reader' at our city's Christmas play...it was actually the only thing that i could do...without the flourish of Olivier I might add...

    Question

    For your inspection ...

Look, I wouldn’t have been able to hear any of this for much of my life. You reading this now may not be able to hear this yet either. But do me this one favor: just think about it.

If only half of this is true...then that's plenty enough to consider.

My older brother, 'claimed' he killed someone in his 'line of duty'. In telling the story he just giggled when he said he was given time off to process the event as it was bound to have been traumatizing. He said, it was the best vacation he ever had. That is my brother in a nutshell. Military school dropout, self-made businessman, and at heart a killer. That might sound an extremely harsh thing to say about a brother and it is, but I remember back in the days when there were unknown serial killers in California in the back of my mind I was wondering if it was him. Another example is when the 'freeway killer' thing was going on he said he was going to get some of his weapons and head out to the freeway hoping he would encounter the perpetrator and this was before he entered law enforcement.

He was always a threatening dude.

Dr. Micheal Wood Jr., who has been on Joe Rogan's podcast (#s 670 & 808) a couple times, talks about his time as a cop in Baltimore. He speaks of how they were disconnected from the communities which they supported and would go out with the intention of targeting folks and kicking some ass.

Back when I was still running an IRC network in the naughties, there was a guy on our network who was studying criminology. He was an ultra-right-winger, and he said his ambition was to become a police officer, so that he could beat the shit out of Muslim immigrants. I kid you not. He also liked partying and doing drugs, and he got his kicks out of being rude and genuinely hurting people's feelings. But when you then gave him a taste of his own medicine, he'd run off crying for his mommy.

And that then reminds me of a couple of other people I know...

    Giovanni,

Thanks so much for posting that link from the "bastard cop!" I am going to repost it. Bill Maher and the poor strange non progressive lefties are so out to lunch on this one. Cops actively practice exclusionary politics-- by limiting their violence to those who are black Muslim, mentally unstable...That's about as exclusionary as you can get. This isn't about snowflakes and safe spaces, its about real brute force and violence in the real world.

Not a Pretender, Aragorn...I know exactly what you are talking about. I went out with a dude many years ago whose father was high up in the rcmp. He would joke around about beating up natives for no particular reason. His favorite sport at home was belittling and trying to humiliate his son...in front of me. Total psychopath. If a psychopath doesn't end up in jail, or the head of a rapacious corporation, they become cops or Navy seals, Green berets, etc...

I went to school with a guy that ended up being a Navy Seal Team Captain...he was an exceptionally talented guy and I never knew him personally but I did know his sister, she dated a friend and my brother...she ended up marrying the friend and my brother ended up raising the friends' brother's child but he didn't know it until recently and it was a difficult discovery for him...I had suspected it for many years but a DNA test confirmed it. His 'daughter' was as shocked as my brother was. She doesn't have many fond memories of her mother and my brother and her are still close.

Anyway, I'm not really a chatterbox...yes, I am...but that family seemed pretty much ok, their father was a Doctor and Hungarian or something like that there by ethnicity, I believe (I threw that one in just for Chris).

There was a military history in the family though: His name is Bad 'Bo' Bosiljevac

This is from a special operations forum page:

    Jeff Rambo - Avatar Name...

I'm going to make an ass out of myself for even putting down Tim's name, but was just curious as to if either Frog/Tri/Fred knew/know him personally? This is just mainly a check on the latter two as opposed to the former:

    - LCDR Tim Bosiljevac (70s Era Former 75th Ranger Regiment & Pathfinder Type HOOAH), Currently In Va., Graduated BUD/S Class 118 in Jul 82. - 18 Years on the teams ... SEAL Team 1/2/4/6/8/DEVGRU blah blah blah, this I'm sure you all know so moving along ... etc. etc. etc. One of the toughest SOBs that I've ever had the pleasure of standing in the same room with.

    - Dwight Collins - Would be in that same period, Class 117/118/119

    - Kevin Williams - Same as above

Take care, and thanks in advance.

    - Out
