I thanked the above video because I watched it.

Are any of these folks geologists? Do they know about architecture and building techniques? He keeps asking, "Why would you do it?" yet not actually looking into why buildings were built this way. The first, or basement floors had a purpose which was usually reserved for storage, machinery, etc., not for humans sitting in chairs or at tables.

At the end he says, "That is the mud flood theory." Yet what he has presented is not a theory at all. It's a series of photos and questions. It's not even a properly formed hypothesis.

People build on top of other structures all the time. My son's girlfriend grew up in a house in Wyoming that was built on top of the original homestead. You could still go down into the old house and there were still artifacts in there such as glass globes which would explode in case of fire. Essentially an old school fire alarm. There was no flood. They just built on top of it.

Liquefaction is the word he wants. Not liquification (which isn't a word). It happens with sandy soil, not just any dirt. Or badly filled land from development.

My house has basement windows which look a lot like what's described here. They are at ground level. The house was built that way. Cellars were for storage and the windows were to let in light. Also to access the oil tank.

There are many buildings with basement windows in Baltimore. It's how they were built.

When folks start throwing in the unnamed 'they' my eyes begin to roll up in my head.

The interesting thing to me about the windows at 12:15 is the fan-like motif above them. It's like the fanned head of a cobra.

In Bethlehem, PA they were excavating and redoing Main Street. It was really interesting because you could see all the older layers of roadway which had been built upon, one after the other. That's what people do. They bring in wheelbarrows and machines and dirt and fill in over old stuff.

In Newport Rhode Island there is a fort which has a bunch of land filled in. It was all done by hand by Irish. Tons and tons of dirt laid in by hand by Irish workers. It's amazing. And it's something people do regularly.

At 16:05 the windows are 'getting smaller' because that's what happened when they put in the new asphalt road. Asphalt roads require many layers.

In my opinion the supposed mud flood is nothing more that typical human development which, especially in Europe, is to build on top of what was there.

Even Gobekli Tepi was covered by humans. Stone gets knocked down and scavenged. If you want to preserve what you've built, burying it is a great way to do it.

Thanks, Aianawa. I've learned that my decision not to watch all of these was a good one. But I'm happy it works for you. It's good entertainment anyway.

I can see your point, we've had houses like that in Norway too, but nothing like this hey? A door underground And the windows looking into mud. I agree with you that there are researchers not caring too much about the details.
