There is a difference between what the outcome of the next elections will be and what would happen if the incumbent US president were to die (or otherwise become incapacitated) during his term. In the latter case, the presidency goes to whoever is the vice-president of the USA, as was the case when John F. Kennedy was assassinated — the presidency then went to Kennedy's former vice-president, Lyndon B. Johnson. So if Joe Biden were to die before his four-year term ends, then Kamala Harris will take over as President of the United States until the 2024 elections — well, technically until February 2025, when the next president is inaugurated.
If both the president and vice-president become incapacitated and/or die, then for the entire remainder of the original president's term, the presidency will be transferred to whoever was the Speaker of the House of Representives at the time until said electoral term ends and new elections can be organized. It's called the presidential line of succession.
Well, that's quite a different thing, isn't it?
