TRUST Itself is Such a Blessing.

TRUST Itself is such a Blessing.
Most view Trust as in Trust one has for another. Trusting somebody else.
Can the other really be Trusted?

When one places the trust in another, then things can go wrong. Trusting in others, and things can go wrong in an instant. With this type of trust, trust can be lost. Things can go wrong at any moment. Trust in others can fail. Trust can be lost altogether. Hard to get it back again.

Trust has not to be dependent on others, it has to be a Trust in oneself. Trusting in oneself. And with this type of Trust, it can never leave you. It can never fail you. It can never become disloyal to you. It is Trust in oneself.

    Do you Trust yourself?

If you trust yourself, then that trust will be unconditional trust because it cannot be for any other particular reason. And, out of that unconditional trust, will grow many branches. One can become a huge tree with great foliage. One can trust in love. One will trust in what is true. One will trust in what is real. One will trust in beauty. One will simply trust because the heart is FULL of Trust. And there will not even be a shadow of distrust. Even if one wants to distrust, it will not be possible.

When one comes to this point - when the heart is Full of Trust - one has come to the very center of their being... Centered in their being-ness. This is from where such a Trust arises. From the very center of one's own being. From where comes the Trust in Existence, Trusting in Life, in nature, in trees, in people. All this arises out of Trusting in Oneself.

Trust in oneself is the first step to be taken. Then, trust in others follows. The first step is the most important step that is to be taken. Trust in oneself. Otherwise, if this first step is missed - Trust in Oneself - then all other steps that follow will also be missed steps. It will take one further & further away from oneself, from the importance of Trust in Oneself.

One will become lost in looking for Trust. As if it is to be found in others? One will become more confused, searching & expecting Trust to be found in others. Trust in oneself. And, one comes home. One can relax in this Trust found within Oneself.

Trust in oneself is without conditions. It does not depend on any condition to be fulfilled... Such a Trust does not lead to frustration. Such a trust, itself, is a blessing.

Trust is not a quantity. You cannot ask, how much do you trust yourself? One pound worth of trust... two, three pounds of trust that one has for another... for others...
Trust is a quality. Either you Trust... or you don't.

Trust is like Love. Love is a quality. It doesn't come in quantities. Trying to measure how much Love one has for oneself? No. It cannot be measured. Either one Loves themselves, or one doesn't love themselves. Loving oneself is the first step to be taken before one can love another, before one can love others.

Loving oneself. It is the same as Trusting oneself.
It is the first step to be taken. It is the path least taken.

    The Path of the Mystic...

In the dictionaries trust is almost misrepresented: there it means trusting someone who is trustworthy. It is more objective – because the man is trustworthy, so you trust him.

It is not your quality; it is the quality of the other person upon which your trust depends. And because there are rarely trustworthy people around, millions of people have forgotten what trust is – because there is no chance for it. A trustworthy person is needed, and there are no trustworthy persons anywhere. Nobody trusts anybody. Hence trust has become a dry word, inexperienced; just a word with no juice, with no taste.

“When I use the word trust it is totally different. I don’t mean you trust somebody who is trustworthy; that is not trust. The man is trustworthy, so it is not a credit to you. When I say trust, I say trust in spite of the man – whether he is trustworthy or not. In fact when he is not trustworthy, then to trust. And only then will you find for the first time something new arising in your consciousness. And then trust will become a very lighted phenomenon, far more superior to love, because it needs nothing from the other…

“When you trust somebody in spite of the person, then you will feel a totally different kind of energy than is described in your dictionaries and than ordinarily is used in the world – that is objective: the trustworthiness of the other person.

“When I say ‘trust,’ it is subjective. Whatever is done to you does not matter: you don’t lose trust in the intrinsic value of the individual, his integrity. His action is irrelevant; there may be a thousand and one causes for his action, but you don’t take his action into consideration. You think of the individual, not of his actions.

“And then there is a trust which is a fully grown love – where there is no possibility of hate, where there is only compassion.”

lol...When loving oneself becomes narcissism one has crossed the threshold from psychological health to pathology. One should examine that carefully. We should all ask people around us that know us well, am I healthy? Do I love those around me as I love myself. Several no's to that question would be a good indicator where we stand. Barring that, professional psychologists are in the business of making that determination.

Trust Is the Fragrance of a Silent, Peaceful Being

Somehow you have got a wrong idea about trust. Trust is not in someone, it is not a relationship. Trust is a quality in one's own self.

A man of trust. It does not mean in what he trusts, but he trusts; that is his innocence. Even if he is cheated because of his trust, that does not matter, because trust is more valuable than any small thing that he has been cheated of. You can take everything from him, but you cannot take his trust.

Trust is an inner growth, consciousness at its peak.

Trust, in itself, is a joy, and distrust, as such, is agony. It is a choice. To trust rather than distrust.

People are miserable all over the world because they have chosen distrust. From their very childhood they have been told, ‘Don’t trust, because if you trust you will be cheated. The world is full of cunning people, so remain alert, don’t trust. Trust only when you have found someone, checked all the possibilities of the person and found that yes, he is trustworthy. Then trust.’

But to trust a trustworthy person really has no meaning at all. It is not one's own quality, it is dependent on the other's trustworthiness. But to trust a person who is not trustworthy, knowing perfectly well that he is not trustworthy, but still you trust, because trust in itself is such a great value that it cannot be lost because of this other person’s unworthiness.

A man who trusts... simply trusts. And each time he is cheated because of his trust, his trust is not destroyed, but is strengthened.

Trust is one of the great qualities of one's being.

Think of it as a quality of being. Then the question will not be asked. "Can the person be trusted?" Because trust is a quality of oneself.

The man of trust simply lives out of his trust; whatever happens does not matter. If he is being deceived continuously, then too, it does not matter. Nothing happens to his trust. His trust is something invincible, and that gives integrity.

So don’t trust in others. Don’t trust in anybody in particular. Simply trust. Let it be your fragrance.

Only one thing can be said: Trust is one's own intrinsic quality. Although, there are those that will cheat. It has nothing to do with who you are. Trust in oneself cannot be cheated or stolen by others.

Simply enjoy trusting. Others come to cheat. That is their problem, that they choose to deceive. If one enjoys deceiving, then enjoy their attempt at deception.

The greater your trust, the greater guilt the person who deceives will have. And there is a chance that this guilt will change that person – he will have a change of heart.

    Trust is tremendously powerful.

There is no question of accepting or rejecting. The question is of growing trust as a quality of one's own being.

When the rose opens, its fragrance starts flowing all around. It is not addressed to anyone in particular. If the king passes by he will receive it; if a beggar passes by he will receive it. If a thief passes by he will receive it. If a murderer passes by he will receive it. For the rose it makes no difference who is receiving it.

Trust is the fragrance of a silent, peaceful being.
Trust is the fragrance of nothingness.

Sometimes trust, however you wish to define it, is misplaced. As we sow, so shall we reap.

"Democracy is not the highest goal. It is better than dictatorial regimes, it is better than monarchies, but it is not the end of the journey – because democracy basically means government by the people, of the people, for the people, but the people are retarded. So let us say: government by the retarded, for the retarded, of the retarded.

" Democracy cannot be the highest possibility man can attain. It is good in comparison to other forms of government that have preceded it, but not something that can succeed it. I call that meritocracy.
"I want a government by the people of merit.

"And merit is a very rare quality.

"As the situation is, all the geniuses of the world are outside governments. It is hilarious: those geniuses are needed in the government because they can give the best world to humanity, but they are servants of the retarded politicians. Now the scientists who are making nuclear weapons are in the service of people like Ronald Reagan. What merit has he got? What intelligence has he got? What is his contribution to the world? – those third-grade Hollywood cowboy films? But he will make the decision, and the geniuses will never be known; they will work almost anonymously."

    - Guess Who -

In the U.S. almost a century ago, one M. King Hubbert, a true genius, advocated for rule by the intellectual elite...scientists and engineers...he was ridiculed for the very notion, but not for the reason you might suspect. In most people's minds it was a ridiculous notion because everyone knew that scientists and engineers are not revered for their social conscience or their interpersonal erudition. In the United States the foundation of the country though somewhat hypocritical was intended very explicitly to not favor the elitist. Perhaps to favor the elite was ok, but not the elitist. Do we appreciate the not very subtle difference? To raise this fundamental aspect of humanity's rulers and rulings from its proper realm of practical daily life to one of religion, not to be confused with religiosity, is woefully misguided. And most sane humans would heartily agree.

Turiya, It doesn't please me to suggest this but in light of the fact that you decline to ascribe the proper citation to the above statements leads me to believe that it was not done for a reason. I think it is customary in most places of the world to do so. Further, though I am most assuredly not a religious bigot or a nationalist, I think that many of the people clapping you on the back for your laudable efforts might be. Why don't you fill them in on your background, so we can all continue in the spirit of true brother/sisterhood?

    thanks

What Is The Difference Between Trusting and Being Naive?

The difference between Trusting & being naive is vast, yet the dividing line is very subtle.
Being naive means being ignorant. Trusting is the most intelligent act in existence.

And the symptoms to be remembered are these:

Both will be cheated, both will be deceived, but the person who is naive will feel cheated, will feel deceived, will be angry, will start distrusting people. His naivety will sooner or later become distrust.

And the person who trusts is also going to be cheated, is also going to be deceived, but he is not going to feel hurt. He will simply feel compassionate towards those who have cheated him, who have deceived him, and his trust will not be lost. His trust will go on increasing in spite of all deceptions. His trust will never turn into distrust of humanity.

    These are the symptoms.

In the beginning they both look the same. But in the end, the quality of being naive turns into distrust, and the quality of trusting goes on becoming more trusting, more compassionate, more understanding of human weaknesses, human frailties.

The trust is so valuable that one is ready to lose everything, but not the trust.
