I doubt it, Chris ... that video was the only thing my brother ever indicated that it had been watched. He does have a sense of humour and we have had more than a few debates, of which I always have the last say of course. He makes good points but he lacks the one thing that makes the crucial difference. The ability to see the contradictions between his stance on 'law and order' and 'compassion and empathy'. He, of all people that should be able to CLEARLY see that. But it doesn't happen.

Eh, I don't know, Bill Maher just doesn't do it for me any more. I guess he was really sharp a couple of years ago, but I feel he has increasingly lost it. Maybe, it is due to the covid lockdown, but I very rarely find myself laughing out loud at his jokes any more.

Maybe the whole of comedy has taken a downward turn during the pandemic? If I was pressed really hard about the funniest comedians I can think of, most of them have passed away. Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Joan Rivers, etc...

It is the same story with the current crop of late night hosts, all of them sound tired and repetitive, I don't think any of them are that funny actually. Perhaps Craig Ferguson was the last genuinely funny late night host out there, the others all sound fake and scripted. I find myself going back to watch old episodes of Craigyferg and Graham Norton these days.

Maher is sardonic. And he can be harsh. It's part of his schtick. I don't like that part. But he can be funny. It's a hit or miss with him for me.

I enjoy the late night comedians, but they're a different animal these days from the days of Johnny Carson.

SNL can be quite funny. But I watch clips rather than the show when it airs.

The Qanon Shaman is now immortalized. He's in cartoon after cartoon.

He is now discovering the magical energies of unintended consequences.

    This is Borowitz satire:

MEMPHIS (The Borowitz Report)—QAnon, which has hemorrhaged supporters since Inauguration Day, has announced that it is merging with the conspiracy theory that claims Elvis Presley is still alive.

The announcement, made at a press conference in a parking lot across the street from Graceland, Presley’s longtime home, was seen as a bid to prevent QAnon from vanishing altogether.

The overture to the Elvis conspiracy theorists came after QAnon proposed a similar merger with the National Rifle Association, which declined, citing difficulties of its own.
