    Jason Louv

Jason has a website, a you tube channel, and a podcast called Ultraculture. He has written several books.

This is a fun start, I think. And timely as the Ren Fest Season is upon us. Huzzah!

British-born, classically trained pianist, composer, author, educator, and Shakespeare Authorship scholar Alan Green stops by the podcast to talk about the secret codes that he's discovered Dr. John Dee hid throughout Shakespeare's plays...!

Jason's newest book is about John Dee.

This is an interview from Occult of Personality about the book.

I listened to the Skeptico interview some time after it first came out. Alex was a little bull doggish but IMO he did uncover some incoherence in Jason's thinking. For anyone who listens to the interview, one would note that despite Jason's continuous use of the name "Guy", that is not Alex's name.

you can hear that interview here

we clash over most people will find surprising… particularly that he has such a strong favorable opinion about scientism, and materialistic science-as-we-know-it.

The other thing is, he’s really closed down re conspiracies. He doesn’t “believe in conspiracies,” whatever that means. I wanted to bring this up because it’s such a litmus test. If you don’t “believe in conspiracies” you are on the outside of our culture looking in because conspiracies are at the heart of culture shaping. They’re at the heart of politics, they’re at the heart of money, they’re, unfortunately, at the heart of corporate science — they’re at the heart of everything important to our culture. So, to say, “I don’t believe in conspiracies,” and at the same time to say, “I believe in magick,” is… well, I wish I could have gotten there earlier in the interview

But, I think it’s important, I think it’s important to understand that and bring that forward, especially from a guy who’s made such a splash with this book.https://skeptiko.com/jason-louv-stra...nd-magick-385/

Interesting angle on the subject. I've heard about the Francis Bacon connection many years ago, but I didn't look further into it...it was always a matter of implying this that and the other. I could never figure out how the uneducated man called Shakespeare could have had so much knowledge. And I must agree...the plays are intriguing, with wisdom that applies even today. Thanks for posting, I'm glad that I listened to it now. Perhaps there's more to 007 than what we've been made to believe.
Whatever is true. Whatever is noble. Whatever is right. Whatever is lovely. Whatever is admirable. Anything of excellence and worthy of praise. Dwell on these things. Jesus Christ (I agree)

If you want to go off on a weird tangent with 007 and Tubal Cain (two ball cane) look into the stuff Tracey Twyman has done on the subject.

"The idea of causing the apocalypse to save the world...is the core piece of bad code in Western Civilization."

Jason was on Team Human and makes this statement at 19:40.

For those who don't know, this drive to bring forth the apocalypse, or the End Times, is going on in America big time. Books like the Left Behind series are a big indicator.

The preponderance of people trying to do this are Republicans. Christians have religified the party, Big time. (is that a word?)

This is one of the biggest distinctions between the two parties. The Democrats are not trying to legislate their religion. The Republicans are trying to turn theirs into law.

This is a comment by shaberon who is a member at PA, I don't know him. I saw his post and liked what he had to say.

Sure, he was an interesting perhaps pivotal figure who conjured the "Enochian Keys" which were later re-written by Anton La Vey, mostly substituting "flesh" where Dee had "most high god".

In his time there was no difference between Natural Philosophy and Science, which continued through at least Isaac Newton, who was an alchemist. We tend to have a distorted view since calculus was carefully peeled away from everything else he did.

I ran into John Dee from a totally different direction: investigation of the timeline that resulted in the USA. There had to have been a magician that connected all this, as the roots of the US is directly tied to the Tudors and their establishment of New World colonies. Flipped a few rocks and there was John Dee.

    I’ve now bought the book:

    And have started reading it.
