I'm always suspicious when it comes to these Lone Wolf terror attacks. More often than not, they turn out to be sting operations. If you don't know what those are, the vast majority of people arrested under terror offences are just ordinary schmucks who are "radicalised", basically fooled, by intelligence agents. They pose as Al-Qaeda or Isis representatives and convince these deluded fools to carry out a terror attack in the name of these organisations. They supply the plans, the target, the material, and when the day comes, they "sting" them, arresting these suspects as if the whole plan came from them and they were working for a foreign terror organisation. Most of them would have never even considered doing something like that if it wasn't for the persuasiveness of these domestic intelligence agents.

I agree, but it's not even clear at this point whether this particular attack had anything at all ado with terrorism. Just because the guy is "a man of color" doesn't mean that he'd be a Muslim, let alone a radicalized one. He could simply be someone who lost it for some reason. Maybe he got fired from his job, or maybe his girlfriend dumped him, or maybe he just doesn't like the Brexit arrangements.

But of course, calling it a terror attack up front is bound to generate more outrage and sell more newspaper copies and news site subscriptions.

My daughter watched this on TV. Whichever channel she was watching interrupted an interview with Frank Bruno to show what was happening. The police seemed to over-react extremely. There were fire engines, ambulances and many squad cars surrounding the area and the police found no bombs or firearms in the car that was crashed. They whisked the culprit away at speed. And they kept the public at a distance and, of course, traffic came to a halt.
