Dissecting the headlines could be a major in course study. The headline writers have their own jobs. A lot of writers don't like the headline guys.

But you gotta sell papers/get clicks.

I also observe and am fascinated by the assumptions people make, especially when it comes to emotions. People see personal attacks where they don't exist.

Growing up it was very difficult to question my parents' politics because they would take questions personally, as if I was criticizing them instead of asking about policy.

Fortunately, they also taught me that I should think for myself and that my beliefs should come from my own self, not someone I follow or adore. They never turned their backs on anyone because of political or religious belief.

And they got over their egos and talked to me about my concerns.

It was good training for the times to come.

My father has a very hard time with dishonorable acts. And he often doesn't want to talk about them.

He was very ashamed of the Japanese concentration camps.

He was very ashamed of the false flags leading us to war.

He cried when Nixon resigned. He couldn't believe a US President would do what Nixon did.

Fortunately he never went into denial. He has learned that my concerns are valid and quite often shares them.

He was not happy that his team to which he was devoted his entire life picked Trump.

ICE and Immigration have a long and rather dark history.

So the bright side here, the lemonade to be made, is that this is going to come out into the light. People are finally going to look at what's going on, the levels of horrific abuse being perpetrated.

It's very un-PC to talk about.

    But that's changing.

    Children in cages

This is a good example of high ground/low ground:

"I do not condone child abuse," Rivera explained.

"Don’t play politics. You can’t be that naive," the host [Hannity] retorted.

"There are 2,300 babies without their mother tonight," Rivera noted.

"Congress should do their job," Hannity replied.
That's pretty cold-hearted, playing the blame game. Neither Trump nor his supporters were forced to do anything.

Where's the personal responsibility? Blaming refugees and Congress?

This is Trump's policy. He ran a pilot program last fall.

Sessions, Miller and Kelly have been talking about this for quite some time.

It's their baby. (such a sad pun)

The abuse claims against the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center near Staunton, Virginia, are detailed in federal court filings that include a half-dozen sworn statements from Latino teens jailed there for months or years...

...Multiple detainees say the guards stripped them of their clothes and strapped them to chairs with bags placed over their heads.

Most children held in the Shenandoah facility who were the focus of the abuse lawsuit were caught crossing the border illegally alone.

The Yolo County Juvenile Detention Facility in California has faced litigation over immigrant children mischaracterized as gang members.

The Shenandoah detention center was built by a coalition of seven nearby towns and counties to lock up local kids charged with serious crimes. Since 2007, about half the 58 beds are occupied by both male and female immigrants between the ages of 12 and 17 facing deportation proceedings or awaiting rulings on asylum claims.

Virginia ranks among the worst states in the nation for wait times in federal immigration courts, with an average of 806 days before a ruling.

The lawsuit filed against Shenandoah alleges that young Latino immigrants held there “are subjected to unconstitutional conditions that shock the conscience, including violence by staff, abusive and excessive use of seclusion and restraints, and the denial of necessary mental health care.”

Taxpayers have paid more than $1.5 billion to private companies operating shelters accused of serious lapses in care, including neglect and abuse.

In Texas, where the resettlement agency awarded the majority of the grants, state inspectors have cited homes with more than 400 deficiencies, about one-third of them serious.

Allegations included staff members’ failure to seek medical attention for children. One had a burn, another a broken wrist, a third a sexually transmitted disease. In another shelter, staff gave a child medicine to which she was allergic, despite a warning on her medical bracelet. Inspectors also cited homes for “inappropriate contact” between children and staff, including a case in which a staff member gave children a pornographic magazine.

In October, an employee appeared drunk when he showed up to work at a facility operated by Southwest Key Programs in San Benito, Texas. A drug test later found he was over the legal alcohol limit to drive. That was among the 246 violations state inspectors found at Southwest Key’s facilities, including rotten bananas and shampoo dispensers filled with hand sanitizer.

These circumstances, like many, involve both State and Federal laws.

Stephen Miller has both disparaged these words and stated quite fiercely that they're not really associated with the Statue of Liberty because they were put there later...or some such nonsense.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
The White House recently demanded of the NYT to not publish some recent audio of Mr. Miller. It was too...harsh or some such nonsense. If you listen to the man you can hear his vitriol.

Stephen Miller is a very young man.

Now openly using Order Follower as excuse:

ICE can't be compared to Nazis because they're just following orders, says director Thomas Douglas Homan.

Tell that to the kids who went to Nazi 'summer camps'.

For those who don't know, right wing fav Laura Ingram said that these facilities are like summer camps.

Still noticing the utter lack of outrage over activities that the alternative community was supposedly so up in arms about.

Guess they fell for the two-party hoax and won't look into it since it's the 'other' party.

    Sad.

That's what the Nazis said too, after World War II.

No, it has nothing to do with the topic itself. They're simply being numb on account of just about everything, and at the same time, there is so much else going on as well that the collective ADHD is kicking in. Bread and circuses, remember?

Children's lives aren't a bread and circus. The same people who are so concerned about child trafficking and ritual abuse seem unable to see that there's a new fresh crop of kids who are super vulnerable.

Ain't no bread and circus when it's real children at stake.

The causes of the so-called concerns are still extant.

It has already come to my attention that the misinterpretation of my words, including misinterpretation of whom said words are directed at, has become the newest pass-time around here — even without that I'm attempting to introduce some humor by referencing attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder or rastafaris who are smoking ganja. Apparently member Nothing enjoy being was the carrier of some weird and exotic infection that has spread out across the forum.

Nevertheless, for the record, I was not referring to the fact that immigrant children are being kept in cages at former Walmart shops as being "bread and circuses", but I was instead talking of the these days over-hyped (as usual) soccer games, and other distractions like that.

In addition to the above, there appears to be an epidemic of apathy going round within this so-called alternative community these days, or at the very least here at The One Truth. The plummeting statistics, the number of threads that only one or two members beside the staff members look at, the dwindling use of the "Thanks" button and the sudden increase in the number of times that I'm finding myself the only member online here — and for several hours on end — all confirm this.

Maybe I should simply stop posting on the open forum and reserve my thoughts and comments for the mod room only. With on average only three or four people looking at my threads and everyone misinterpreting what I write on other threads all the time, perhaps such a self-imposed semi-sabbatical would be a good idea — or at least, until people have learned how to read again and have managed to wake up from their catatonia.

I'll start by staying out of both this thread and the one on Donald J. Trump. <sigh>

yes Aragorn...but isn't it sad that the bread and circus is cause of more concern than actual real lives...it is the same impetus as it was during the Inquisition. I'll bet a large portion of the population was freaking out about those damn conspiratorial Knights Templar while Jews and other barbarians were being crucified.

But things are different now because we are 'awakened'. Is there an emoji for ludicrous...I don't mean mildly ludicrous...I mean past light speed ludicrous.

Sorry about that. I wasn't so much interpreting you, Aragorn, as making a statement on the situation.

There's no reason and no defense for separating families for the sake of prosecuting a misdemeanor offense.
