I think it pretty interesting the way the the future king and his brother have found sympathetic women to marry. But These PR moves won’t help them in the coming revolution.

Agreed. Time for some royal flushes. Including the new royals of democracies. I will be looking for some 'interesting' slips of the tongue this Lunar cycle.

Actually, you are partly correct, but also partly wrong. The name Windsor is indeed fake, because up until the British Crown assumed that name, they were called von Saxen-Coburg, which is also the last name of the Belgian king, and which hails back to German aristocracy.

In fact, the only time that the British have ever intervened with Belgian politics was when Belgium was declared independent. The provisional government of Belgium — all francophone Keynesian liberals and Christian-democrats at the time — wanted Belgium to become a monarchy, and given that the British Crown wanted Belgium to act as a neutral buffer zone between France and the Netherlands, they insisted that the Belgian king would be their German relative Leopold von Saxen-Coburg.

The part where you are wrong however is that Windsor would be the name of the entire British royal family. Concretely, it is Elizabeth II's last name, but her husband's name is Mountbatten. Given that children in Britain inherit their last name from their father, Mountbatten is therefore also prince Charles' last name, and by consequence, it is also the last name of his two sons.

That said, I don't really know where the name Mountbatten comes from, given that — at least, to the best of my knowledge — prince Philip's roots lie both in Greece and in Denmark.

Incidentally, my own (real) last name is an Old or Middle Dutch translation of the French phrase "du lac" ("of the lake"), which in turn was allegedly the (given) last name of Sir Lancelot in the Arthurian legend.

I’m reading the ‘Royal Wedding” cost the taxpayers of the UK $45million.

...second wedding for her, why not do it privately, film it it for the folks who are crazy for pomp and sh!t, and donate the rest to folks who could use a bite to eat?

It's not for her. It's for Harry, and for the British, and for the memory of Diana (imo).

Royals, sigh. I believe that monarchies belong to the past and these kind of events are so silly...

However, I have to say that bishop's speech was amazing. How hard it must have been for the elites to hear about true love?

...all part of the PR show. Shows like this make me think they are really losing their grip.

I'm really lovin' this guy and his message.

Over one billion people heard that? Now that's Christ-ianity in it's truest sense!

That is how you affect the collective consciousness, little by little. Just beautiful.

Oh yes, I tried to explain the message to somebody who hadn't seen the wedding ceremony at all, and I was given the most negative response, that nearly blew my head off! A lot of people think love = sex and so I guess they will get the message the wrong way, especially if they have a problem in that area as well, hey?

Here's the hymn that Bishop Michael Curry mentioned in that interview:
