Nice word play, Rad. The owls came first in the dreams...

The power was already there but you don't put anything into the outlet until you know the wattage.

My 1st thought is that with affluence societies move away from 'spirituality' because they don't need it. Who prays or meditates when life is so good? With changes such as the development of nuclear weapons, climate change, continuing war, and natural disasters life becomes a challenge, and because spirituality and religion are intergenerational customs the comfort of 'faith' and 'hope' are lost from one to the next. Answers exist for the 'lack' of existential relief but it is a discovery process and many don't have the ken to 'discover' them. Thus spending time on the psychiatrist's couch becomes a common phenomenon, such is life.

It's easy to be a philosopher...

Funny, I put this search in google: Did Epictetus have any sense?

this is one of the returns:

“The question at stake is no common one; it is this: Are we in our senses, or are we not?” — Epictetus

That name is just funny. Epictetus. The possible auto-corrects are myriad. What senseless fun.

I recall a woman who is atheist and made the case for the Golden Rule being a good moral barometer for life. She didn't have to believe in God. It just makes perfects sense and is good and ethical.

I don't think she needs any therapy.

This is what my dad's philosophy was, I always thought was the very worst advice he gave me, of many bad ones. If you haven't read about the philosopher in this video you should. You will find some interesting things about him. Montaigne

He was liberated... what the hell.

    That's really interesting...

I had a dream last night that I had inexplicably lost time and was wandering around my childhood neighborhood. I ended up lying in some bushes outside my house with a crumbling mobile phone. My dad drove up and went inside. And I reluctantly followed him, reluctant because he never liked me coming around because it caused problems with my stepmother. She was gone, passed away, and he seemed young, hale and hearty. Drugs, alcohol, yes, we talked about that and then he started telling me his regret that he had alienated his father for foolish and petty reasons. I tried to assuage his sadness and regret recalling for him the old TV show, My Three Sons and how he had once asked why did bad fathers children still love them in spite of their parental bad moments. We laughed about that and them being TV fathers, and I said 'but dad, they were nice to their kids'

I strongly disagree with the coincidence notion, but I think the meaning of life is literally life.

That being said, I do wonder at times like now why I am still alive. That's a good question, why.
