I have always been curious...are people who become others' gurus self actualized?

oops on her...zero is very different than the concept of nullity... zero is not nothing...I had a Math jackass professor try to make an ass out of me when explaining the concept...I understood it but like a said he was a jackass, as in a very poor teacher. Anywho, after trying to shame me he launched into a tirade about how the Mayans and Aztecs hadn't really contributed anything to the field of mathematics (e.g. the notion of nothingness). I hated that c*cks*cker. I"m done, I hope I didn't upset the flow.

    E8 ... 8 .... oh noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

the graviton has been experimentally confirmed...this video also appears as a perfect analogue to the spiritual concept of simultaneous existence in multiple dimensional levels as in Seth's 'oversoul'. But Why! Why! Why! 8...no, it can't be...

If the video does not allow for bullet points, then at the very least you could have copy/pasted the description from YouTube if present. And in the absence of such a description at YouTube itself, you could just as easily have written a short introduction of your own.

Not everyone has the time to sit through a two-hour video that doesn't even have a proper description, and there was absolutely no need for you to be so rude when replying to what was a very polite and friendly request from a fellow member.

Wind, as I said, there was no confrontational intent in my turning down your request for, bullet points. And I apologise if that was still your impression.

Aragorn, if you would like to bring the matter of politeness and language usage, you are welcome to send a private message.

I don't think we should go out of our way to alienate one another...of course, it differs from person to person what is 'out of the way'...

That is interesting, would you like to be more specific on what you are referring to? Or is it a Confucius says moment?

yeah, kind of a 'Confusious' moment.

I'll be brutally upfront about this...

In America there is a beer commercial for a beer that I use to love but realized that it was 'dangerous' for me...Foster Lager...the commercial starts with a guy standing at the bar who suddenly gets hit in the side of the head with a remote control and the punchline is: "Australian for change the channel"

Australians and New Zealanders to a lesser extent have a 'mythic stereotype' to Americans...a.k.a. tough b*stards...

    Sometimes we resemble our stereotypes...

Yeah that is fine, I would agree that many of us are tough, I suppose. I would also see that as in contrast to the stereo types given to other nationalities, which I won't go into as some people are easily offended, although that would not be the intention.

Personally I try to be firm but fair if the situation requires one to stand ones ground. Also upfront and honest, as opposed to underhanded or backstabbing.

The subject of bullet points and arguing over it to me, is petty. Has anyone noticed the length of the video in post 65? I can bring out my sharp knife and begin to split hairs, shine the light on behaviours. Plenty of people want to jump into a scenario without thinking and display their prejudices, and project on others.

Which came first the chicken or the egg. Myself, several days back, pushed play on the video in post 65, skipped it along a bit and decided I had no interest in it. My prerogative, my way of finding out what is in a video, no need to ask for bullet points. The same goes even for short videos, plenty of times others and myself will or wont give descriptions. The video may be a gem, or it might be a complete waste of time. Which, having been lured into watching it because it is short, is an interesting proposition if one begins to add up the times such videos are watched.

So we are then discussing what? People's sensibilities? Prejudices? My response was in reflection to being aware that video descriptions seem to be optional in at least this thread and that being that sometimes I give descriptions and sometimes I don't, it ought be clear that this time all I was going to say is the description that I did give it.

I really don't feel it was impolite, especially compared to some of the other uses of language and public ridicule that I see here from some people. Of which I usually give them leeway on, understanding they may have particular issues causing such, until it infringes upon myself, and then I may choose an action.

fair enough and a good explanation...I wouldn't even know how to disagree with your statement without being 'prejudicial' about my own 'sensibilities'...

If I was prone to be confrontational, I could even throw in a few references to 'political correctness', 'civilization and culture' or some such thing...BUT, I"m not...

Well, in that case they must have been real jerks. I try my best to be as polite as I can be even though sometimes I would like to say things more harshly, but I don't particularly enjoy hurting other people's feelings. Not that it would matter because they're just feelings, but I still have that empathic side to myself. I felt that my request for you was polite enough and your response to it a bit inconsiderate, but I have no hard feelings about it as you've made yourself more clear here. I'm not anyways a native English speaker/writer/mind-reader and I might not always "get" what you guys are talking about, but I try my best to understand and communicate clearly enough in this common shared language of ours which is English.

Well all I can do is apologise again if you took any of it personally. I was certainly a little frustrated yesterday at a particular kind of energy present in the concept of a need for forum debate and discourse, maybe that showed through, but it was not will impoliteness, more bluntness from unwillingness to engage. I should have just not replied at all.. so, apologies to you.
With that, the matter imo is over and can be addressed to my inbox if others really wish to continue the distraction.

No worries, none taken. Ironically enough this might just be the right kind of thread when it comes to self-reflection...
