Imo, more killings from a hurt and abused human.

Like to feel that 3 sighcopaths pass each time this happens, that were connected to the hurt and abuse.

Do you know what would be nice for a change? Rather than being shown clip after clip of kids being made to run with their hands up, how about just one little clip from any number of a school's security cameras, or a cell phone video, of a suspect actually stalking the halls.

Ah come on, Fred, you know as well as I do that the shooting of video footage by way of cellphone cameras is by law restricted to people traveling on board of airliners that have been hijacked by brown-skinned guys with box cutters.

Besides, there would be too much light from another floor shining through those glass ceilings, you know.

There's a script and they follow it. Show arial shots, show the same shots over and over, interview emotional people.

There are probably laws governing the security cameras and 'showing evidence'. There's also the idea that if you 'glorify' the shooter too much copycats will try to emulate.

Michael Moore points out a lot of uncomfortable things that Americans don't like to hear. For instance, plenty of other countries have citizens with guns and have nothing like our murder and violence rate.

We have some kind of underlying illness and then guns make violence so easy. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like it's a well known fact that we suck at handling mental and emotional illness.

We love to give and take pills... they're a kind of magic bullet solution.

I understand that there are false flags. These school shootings are not that. They're a symptom of a disease.

Another symptom of our disease is calling everything fake. I understand that this community has done the whole paradigm change thing. And that's not supposed to include blind eyes to facts and reality. This is when reality bubbles pop and people who thought they were woke get a wake up call they never expected.

Crying false flag has become like crying wolf. And real deaths are happening.

I fear too many people have their eyes so fixed on the boogeyman, the bright and shiny target they want to see locked up, that they are missing what's going on around them. And then they get blind-sided.

(that's what's happening, imo, with the fascists and oligarchs. They cherish every moment we call their work a 'distraction')

Another thing that we have in the US is a very powerful pharmaceutical cartel that drugs any kid that they can possibly find a reason to. I did read that the shooter was receiving psychiatric care a year ago which is synonymous with being drugged in this country. I haven't studied every shooter, but I venture to guess that the bulk of them have been prescribed some kind of mind altering drug.

I do agree that this is not the only problem. I do think we have a really sick society for many reasons, in fact too many to address here.

I'm annoyed by it. Yes it is a symptom of hurt and abuse, and in which the culture doesn't really recognise it.
The annoying thing is that in my life, the upbringing of children in this country has been heavily influenced by the steady string of so-called experts from the USA telling our country and others how we should be bringing up children. You know, the line trotted out saying "New research proves that toddlers should be this that or the other". Often about facing on previous claims. This is what I am referring to in the above rant, know alls.
A few American mates who have spent time here, talk of NZ being like a time warp, going 30 years back into the past. So, is this what we have to look forward to?
Sounds like where I live, “folks, please put your tray tables up, we are landing in Sedona, Arizona; set your watches back 30 years.”

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like countries maybe are going to stop following America's lead so readily.

I see security footage all the time on the news, and speaking of formulas, there seems to be one where this event we WANT you to see, but that event we DON'T want you to see. Bank robberies and the car rammings I've seen just recently, and remember the inmate who murdered his way out of the Atlanta courthouses? That surveillance video was immediately plastered all over the place.

I know this is a bit off subject, but remember when they couldn't wait to show us the picture of Uday and Qusay's shot up dead bodies, or their Papa undergoing a humiliating dental exam right after capture? But then why was is so taboo to show us the (supposed) body of bin Laden? Nope. Dump em in the ocean ASAP, we don't need to see that one.

So far as giving them glory. If that's such a vital concern, then why plaster their names across every TV screen and newspaper article? That's okay, but showing a shot of them at the actual crime scene is an unforgivable sin?

I'm not saying the kid didn't do it, I don't know I wasn't there. What I DO know however is that law enforcement is prone to grave errors, and outright deception. So anyway no, I'm not buying that narrative.

You make great points, Fred. I noticed long ago that 'footage' of events is selected, often the same thing is shown over and over again, other things aren't. The headlines are all the same. I haven't honed in on the bigger pattern yet. But there's a lot of 'news' I don't watch. One of the reasons I turned away from mainstream 'news' is that they don't show the whole story, waste time repeating the same things, fail to follow up, etc.

And it's never good news/entertainment to report on corruption of law enforcement. That brings ratings down. Especially in conservative communities.

I really lost faith when the networks moved news into entertainment once the laws required news to be actual news. Most Americans don't seem to even get that what is being called news comes from entertainment divisions in these networks.

We erode our fourth estate all by ourselves. Just like any powers that be would want us to. But we can't make an effective alternative if we continue to be just as tribal in our information.

Weird that this kid didn't kill himself. Most of the others did. The story is that he thought he'd blend in with the students and get away. Not too smart, if that's the case.

My close associate here at work, knows the parents of one of the kids that was killed. He said, if one is not touched by such things it is easy to blow off. I heartily agreed and then told him my story of the Wichita Kansas sniper in the 70's and the other New Orleans sniper that I grew up with...

Sometimes I think some people have fallen too far into the rabbit hole when it comes to being a conspiracy theorist. Not everything is fake or a hoax. Real people get killed, children get killed too. Is it too hard to realize that Americans are living in a culture of violence? Although if we are honest the whole world is an insane asylum, America is just the center of it. Am I against responsible citizens owning guns? No! Am I for background checks and against mentally unstable people and teens owning guns such as assault rifles? Hell yes I am! Like any sane and responsible human would be.

The mainstream news are full of shit and it's no wonder that people don't trust in them anymore. Yes, it is quite possible that these might be organized events and let's say that probably 50-70 % of them are, but there is also the other option. Do you dare to look at it and face it? What the hell is bubbling to the surface? Thoughts and prayers will not suffice, actions are needed too. Who wants to get used to news like this? Looks like to me that we closing on that point and what a tragedy that is.
