Arming the teachers is the worst idea I can think of. People are on some kind of black powder drug if they think that's any kind of solution.

It demonstrates how little people have understood that more guns around means more people die. It's that simple. Are we daft fools? Putting them in schools means more kids die. What an awesomely stupid idea.

Teachers have to spend their own money on teaching and classroom supplies and they get paid crap, but we're gonna spend our tax dollars on guns and training teachers?

We are phenomenally stupid to think that would work in any way.

The kids are using the language of their leaders. "You're either with us or you're against us." And they're straight out threatening their leaders. "Help us or you're out of there." As in voting them out.

The NRA has been wooing children for a long time. I won't post any but there are so many ads showing happy beautiful families shooting guns with their children. The NRA, within an hour of the kids meeting with Trump, was out saying that no way would they support an age limitation on machine guns.

And, of course, Ann Coulter doesn't think women should vote until they're 30. Republicans will restrict voting and speech no problem.

    But guns? No way Jose.

I'm sure NRA loves Trump for his stance.

Logic, where is it? I guess that's just the American type of logic.

I'm hearing the kids and families refer to the kids being hunted. That is very powerful. That's gonna have a lot of mileage. People who dismiss and condescend to that will be on the losing side, imo.

Man, American Idiot. The Bush era. Whew. Weird kind of flashback.

I had a heavy feel of doom during the Bush years. They were dark. We were going down a dark road. This era feels like what it is. Chaos and change.

They describe Congress: "...supposed to be a lobby for the American people..." Wow. That's another great phrase.

Congress is supposed to be a lobby for the American people.

The NRA is blaming the media's theater. They forgot the personal responsibility part of the equation. Big League.

The Supreme Court ruled that news has to be news. So the economic choice is to move news into entertainment divisions to avoid sanctions and court cases.

If Americans don't like that they have to change it. The ball is now in the hands of the Congress which does absolutely nothing.

Once again, people are going after the guy on the whipping post (the media) instead of the people who hold the keys (the legislators).

And so these kids are gonna do their best to force Congress to actually act. They're not stupid. They're not as programmed as some people seem to want to believe.

These voters will force legislators to either renounce their oaths to private organizations or vote for people who won't make them.

Why in the world do we have representatives who literally sign oaths to groups vowing that they will never debate or vote on certain issues? How is that patriotic?

Two important things: it happens on both sides and vastly more on one; the side that is most malleable, thus most easily changed is not the rigid conservative one.

Look, disarming ‘mericans ain’t gonna happen, you gotta dump the 2nd admendment. That will not happen.

Besides you have countries more heavily armed than the US with much less gun violence; Switzerland and Israel comes to mind. ‘Splain them away.

Disarming folks here in the American West would lead to armed conflict. I am not kidding. Even here in hippy-dippy Sedona.

We don't need disarmament. We need dialogue. We need law enforcement to listen and take citizens seriously.

We need representatives who are not beholden to:

    CPAC
    NRA
    AIPAC

They uphold their oaths to these organizations more than they do to the Constitution.

    CPAC: Conservative Political Action Conference

AIPAC: American Isreal Public Affairs Committee

(all y'all know what the NRA is, enit?)

The thing is Mr. Dumpster, The Supreme Court battle sways to and fro. It is why the right made efforts to buy them. Liberals and Conservatives have very different 'interpretations' of the 2nd Amendment. And that is all they are, interpretations. If we want to hear it from the Horse's mouth we will have to rely on the Re-animator or re-incarnation.

Read Gladwell's "Outliers" for an explanation. Ethnic history has a VERY lasting impact. Recall the Hatfields and the McCoys.

Yup, read “Outliers” ... as a statistician I had trouble with his use of the term. Anyway, exactly how do you apply his “vision” to gun control?

Look, there is something going on here in the US. Simple socialist state control of “object x” is not going to work as having such object is a defined right.

Are these slaughters symptoms of a mental illness? Yes they are! A sign of a mentally ill culture which allows people to commit these atrocities. Should people just accept them as the "norm" or actually do something about them?

We are pretty high on the chart there, but guess what? Not a single civilian has access to automatic weapons or not even to assault rifles. Why should a (mentally ill) teen have access to a gun like that? A highly trained professional (such as the marines) could be a responsible owner for a gun like that, but not a teen. This is coming from someone who actually understands a thing or two about guns and doesn't hate them. I like guns! I just don't own a single one.

The school shootings here were done with small calibre pistols though, but over a decade ago when those events happened they did change the gun laws and some could say that even too much, if you ask the gun enthusiasts. After it we haven't had any school shootings though. Yes, people do die from gun related crimes from time to time, but most of them are suicides.

How many of these shootings do you think were false flag attacks? Can every single one be? Maybe 70 % of them was, but what about the rest 30 %?

America's gun culture in 10 charts

I don’t own any guns as the GF forbids it!

...so I’ve got to sneak them in the house somehow in future.

On the above charts, I’m surprised that Israel is not among the top 10. When we were there during the weekends the busses fairly bristled with reservists toting their guns to their weekend warrior sites.

...maybe a Netherlands joke applies. They said that only the crazy people went west, the further west, the crazier. Explains California, perhaps.

...umm, he may well be a Satan worshipping paedo-cannibal, but strictly speaking spawn of Satan, I think not. Satan, methinks, has better things to do.
