Nothing new here. In the Defense Dept budgets there were many, many words that were ‘changed’ to sell line items, i.e. don’t use the original word, so ‘we’ invented new ones.
One that comes to mind, Staballoy for Depleted Uranium. Uranium was an unsellable word to Congress.
