And often that larger incomprehensible 'thang' keeps getting bigger and more superceeded, until it flips back into group-consciousness of all, being the surest possible culprit. One where the focussed intent of others in just being themselves is a necessity to add up to the result, and that result, on reflection is shown to have a clear mind of its own which no individual could hold, and is beautiful in its operation of poetic justice and proportion.

Oh and does this mean if anything was on Mars, they just got a bit of a botty slap from the sun?

The next color level up in frequency is purple...

...maybe that's why we got a Purple Llama wandering around here at TOT?

Or, you could simply be more careful when publicly citing your sources, rather than deflecting with sarcasm when someone actually challenge one. It's up to you Rolf, I'm off to other things now.

Dude, I'm in the middle of a house move, not much time and my wi-fi is getting cut today. I'm simply telling you to write them and ask for the references. Where is the sarcasm?

update: OK, checking Ben's site site, it's a little harder to get Ben by e-mail these days (he's crushed by e-mail requests, 800 a day it seems), so I've sent off an e-mail to get him to tell me where his papers are located. This may take a few days as I may not get wifi for a while.

So your leaving the Cays for somewhere more rugged. Where are you going? By the time I'm out in San Diego, you'll be gone. Too bad, we could have had a beer at McP's. Cheers anyway.

I've sent you a private note. Yeah, this one involves up to 4 differing trucks to move all the junque. So if you think I was bipolar before, just wait.

...my solution was large fire and weenie roast, but as I'm turning vegetarian...

    Back on topic, generally...

What is this all about? Approximately once a week, Spaceweather.com and the students of Earth to Sky Calculus fly space weather balloons to the stratosphere over California. These balloons are equipped with radiation sensors that detect cosmic rays, a surprisingly "down to Earth" form of space weather. Cosmic rays can seed clouds, trigger lightning, and penetrate commercial airplanes. Furthermore, there are studies ( #1, #2, #3, #4) linking cosmic rays with cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death in the general population. Our latest measurements show that cosmic rays are intensifying, with an increase of more than 13% since 2015:

Why are cosmic rays intensifying? The main reason is the sun. Solar storm clouds such as coronal mass ejections (CMEs) sweep aside cosmic rays when they pass by Earth. During Solar Maximum, CMEs are abundant and cosmic rays are held at bay. Now, however, the solar cycle is swinging toward Solar Minimum, allowing cosmic rays to return. Another reason could be the weakening of Earth's magnetic field, which helps protect us from deep-space radiation.

ooooo...I love graphs! Hard core Dreamy, who knew?

BTW, what was the altitude of the location where the measurements were made? Looks like you guys were in one of the south-shore casinos at Lake Tahoe.

    They say,
The data points in the graph above correspond to the peak of the Reneger-Pfotzer maximum, which lies about 67,000 feet above central California. When cosmic rays crash into Earth's atmosphere, they produce a spray of secondary particles that is most intense at the entrance to the stratosphere. Physicists Eric Reneger and Georg Pfotzer discovered the maximum using balloons in the 1930s and it is what we are measuring today.

I hear the area on the Sun that caused that will be earth facing on the 1st/2nd August. I suppose it may have settled down by then anyway, but sun spots that cause that size of mass ejection wont just disappear over night. I think my logic is sound but I haven't really been watching the sun long enough to be experienced lol so forgive any silly mistakes.

The purple llama is two steps up from blue chickens, in between is the ancient esteemed indigo alpacas.
