    Met a wonderful person today

I had a plumbing issue with a clog on one of our toilets last night. Had to have a plumber out today and I became quite emotional and knew immediately upon shaking his hand that this man was very special! Taller than me, and I don't look up to many people really because I am tall also, but something else was there. Something deep, that touched me very deeply.

While talking he confessed he knew me, that he was a child in one of the homes across the street many many years ago when we moved here, Elliot is his name. Talking about the job he said something about the gloves he wore to protect from cuts since he only had one kidney! Then I knew! He gave a part of himself to someone who wouldn't be alive if not for him! Turns out it was his son! What a wonderful man! A very deep spiritual being with such strength!

Good light and love to Elliot today!! Thanks so much!

Yes, and as I was a total career oriented a$$hole during his formative years it left some scars.

My son and I have been estranged also but the good news is that broken things mend stronger when they do heal! Hold on to that thought! You never know, lightning may strike!

My son and I get along quite well these days. I admitted to him that I was a sh!t Dad and he seems to see some of the positive parts to it. He is still paying for my carelessness, however, and I'm sure I gained some Karma because of it. My original point is, d!ck!shness is still hard to overcome, but at least I am working on it now.

This is good to hear. My husband had reconciled with his mother just before I met him. It was a good thing and they were close.

I too was estranged from my only child, my SON for about 3-4 years and this meant I couldn't see my Grandchildren. I had walked away from all but one brother of my extended family, too. What a dark time that was the first year or so and my inner journey to healing was intense boardering on suicide from time to time. However, at last, at last I FOUND ME!!

Thank you for sharing everyone, brought a few flashbacks my way but thankfully without the shame, condemnation, guilt or remorse it once used to.

    Great thread Jengelen

It can be hard watching our children/grandchildren find their way when you recognize the indoctrination/programming you instilled never mind social programming. There is good news tho' in that we have never allowed ourselves to stop learning either no matter our age (deprogramming)..........keep up the good work DD and all, as it does trickle down just like the other no to hot stuff did......they see it and get it and will incorporate it when that roadway hits their path.
