The Dashka stone or also referred to as the Map of the Creator is a stone tablet of unknown origin that was discovered in the village of Chandra in Bashkortostan, Russian Federation. It is believed to be around 120 million years old.
Researchers from the Bashkir State University have studied this ancient artifact that is believed to depict a highly detailed map of a specific area of the Ural Mountains, Bashkiria, which has not changed significantly in millions of years. This ancient map is done on a scale 1 : 1.1 km.
According to studies, this one-ton-slab is made up of three levels. According to Professor Chuvyrov, this stone slab was made artificially and did not originate in nature alone. According to studies performed, the Dahska Stone or stone of the creator has the following characteristics:
- The first layer of the Dashka stone consists of 18 centimeters of cement or ceramic based on dolomite.
- The second layer is “made” of diopside glass; It is made approximately of one inch, enriched with silicon, according to researchers; to provide picture strength.
- The third porcelain layer has several millimeters. According to scholars this might have been placed in order to create diffused light, to illuminate the stone slab, but also to protect the slab from external impact thanks to its calcium-porcelain composition.
But wait a minute, 120 million years old? Well this is the part where most of us that read about it get skeptical. According to research, scientists were able to date the Dashka stone thanks to a pair of ancient shells locked into the slab that confirmed the age. Before finding these shells, they believed the Dashka stone to be around 3000 years old. When the shells were discovered is where the story gets interesting. The age of one of the shells – Navicopsina munitus of the Gyrodeidae family is believed to be 500 million years old. The second shell that belongs to the Ecculiomphalus princeps of the Ecculiomphalinae subfamily – is believed to be 120 million years old, and this was the age that was accepted by the researchers.
Scientists believe that this slab belongs to a group of other stones that represented a much greater area in high detail.
The Dashka slab was found in 1999; featuring intriguing maps, it shows civil engineering projects in detail: a system of channels with a length of about 12,000 km and several dams, the map on the Dashka stones does not seem to show any roads, scholars believe that whoever created this intriguing stone, must have had the technology to observe the region from the skies; the Center of Historical Maps in Wisconsin shares this belief. The stone slab weighs just over one ton and has several interesting inscriptions that were believed to be ancient Chinese, but scientists later stated that the language of the inscription is not Chinese. It is a hieroglyphic writing system of unknown origin, and researchers have not been able to decipher nor read it so far.

Other researchers have a very skeptical opinion towards the Dashka stone and state that there is nothing really interesting about it. The system of cracks is just that, cracks and has nothing to do with the rivers of Bashkortostan. Also those who oppose this theory state that the formation of mineral on top of another is nothing uncommon.
All of this sounds really interesting; and while some will say the statements by Professor Chuvyrov are sensationalistic, well, they might seem so, but until evidence is provided that proves the stone to be something that “popped” out of nature, interest in this ancient stone slab will surely attract researchers, historians and conspiracy theorist alike.
