    Friends

Dear God. They know not what they do.

The Federalist isn't afraid to let it's freak flag fly:

“Why Men and Women Can Never Be ‘Just Friends’”
    From the article:

"All of us need to start having more babies or else the upcoming demographic tsunami will consume our nation, cripple our social programs, and leave us with a future so bleak that our only source of joy will be the moment we’re chosen to receive the sweet, fatal kiss of the Obamacare..."(don't really need to quote the rest of that)

The cause of the bleak level of white babies being born? And it is about white.

"Every year, countless young men find themselves trapped in the Friend Zone, a prison where women place any man they deem worthy of their time but not their hearts..."

"Being caught in the Friend Zone is an inarguable drag on fertility rates, as a man who spends several years pledging his heart to a woman who will never have his children is also a man who most likely won’t procreate with anyone else during that time of incarceration...."

Such faith. I've seen the reality of men who will find sex when they need it, as another Federalist Headline points out: "We Need To Admit That Men Need Sex More Than Women Do"

    Hans Fiene goes on:

"For the Friend Zone to be destroyed, women must accept the following truths: you don’t have any guy friends and, in fact, you can’t have any guy friends."

Oh really? What a Crock of Conserved Crap.

Any person using a modicum of logic can understand that having male friends is a lot like having brothers who watch out for you and protect you without acting like they own you. I do not consider an ownership attitude of male sibling to female a part of American values. Neither does my sibling who is a devout Republican.

Of course, the real feelings behind this red herring are pretty obvious as laid out in this blog:

"On the other hand, here's a solution that I'll bet Mr. Matchmaker wouldn't find quite as palatable: stop deporting all those nice young Latino and Muslim men and women and children and instead let them come in and have a path to citizenship and become beautiful little future taxpayers.

It's almost like making abortion more difficult, contraception more expensive, higher education less affordable, and deportation in vast numbers of non-whites with higher birth rates than whites somehow has some kind of design behind it..."

What a maroon. What an embezzle.

I agree, never read that publication but wow, that guy has some issues he needs to work through.

Good to be reminded these types are still out there.

I used the word Conserved purposefully, fyi. This idea is old crap in new clothes, and has to have been conserved to even be surviving at this point.

    I assumed

I don't even know how to categorize this type thinking.. haha racialistly misogynistic chauvinism?

I grew up on the west coast, I didn't even realize stuff like this existed still until I traveled the US a bit more (though I guess I had a blind eye for it, there were some extremist rednecks in my highschool, but we always just laughed at them)

I had a similar experience though I came from the Southwest. When we moved to Georgia and they started calling us Yankees I was highly confused. Isn't that a baseball team? Didn't they call Northerners Yankees during the Civil War? Why are they calling us that when we've never even been to the Northeast? So weird.

Moving to New England was when I learned that the mafia was alive and well and not something out of the history books. So weird.

In 2000 when I worked at the American University I had a boss who was a black woman. Another administrator in our office was a woman of mixed heritage who had an asian/middle eastern appearance. They took a long lunch one day to go down into Virginia to eat and shop. They got lost and stopped in a town for directions.

They were told very nicely they should be sure to be out of town before dark, or they might not be safe.

    In 2000.

Plenty of old crap has been preserved...

I'm not in favor of 'selecting' who should reproduce. I know some people personally who would never have been selected in their 20s but have turned out to be excellent parents. You just can't tell.

Not to mention the fact that having a child causes a fundamental transformation. People are not the same after they've had children.

I'm most certainly not going to focus on the worst of the worst to justify sterilization or controlling who can reproduce. I know some excellent, successful adults who have had some real serious problems with raising their children. Just because someone is personally successful does not mean they will be a good parent.

Many successful people can't even stay married.

People are very worried about demographics in the US. It's not majority white anymore and that makes a lot of people very uncomfortable.

If we're going to try to keep/preserve a republican democracy we'd better start valuing all Americans, not just the ones who are 'on the right team'.
