Love Songs Sung For The Mystery

Today is Feb 14th and a song maybe from the grocery store Musack is stuck in my head.

Stevie Wonder sang it many times.

    "My Cherie Amour"

La la la la la la, La la la la la la

My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
My cherie amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine

La la la la la la, La la la la la la
La la la la la la, La la la la la la

Maybe someday, you'll see my face among the crowd
Maybe someday, I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine

La la la la la la, La la la la la la
La la la la la la, La la la la la la

    Rumi sang to his Beloved.
His lover also had a human face
This earth love was his preparation of suffering highs and lows of love.
Then Rumi opened up to the Friend.

We cannot see Our Beloved easily.
We long for Her so yearningly and we feel such rage too at Her seeming absence..
Searching and seeking through the world for only HER, we stumble AND fly..
The Friend cannot be described except in ecstatic stutterings and tears.

We move towards people on behalf of the Friend.
When we REALLY love someone, we are loving the Mystery.
The Mystery is as close as our own Breathing BUT
We doubt one may feel it in the Bones

I think we feel shy with each other because we yearn for SUCH BIG LOVE

Rumi had his breakthrough and knew what he was about in this one life
He demanded to be swept away from his narrow "home" into a wave of magic.
He saw Orthodoxy shatter and reveal the Rose.

Divinity is not far away but in our 3rd dimensional body of magical substance.
We have arms to embrace and hands to reach.
We have an imperative need to touch.
We have skin to touch and heart to feel.

We just naturally sing we are aware of being alive

Romancing the Divine may be what we all signed on to have as a UNIVERSAL experience,
To BE IN love tasting the elixer essence of romance.
YES! Romance is what the Divinity asks from us.
To BE living in a body on a planet, in the arms of our dear Beloved Beloving.
I THINK we made a pledge and vow for LOVE. This was the entrance fee to be taken in to Divines's world.
We forget our vow, the first mistake.
We forget our place, the second loss,
We forget all but the feel of love so soft and embracing
And we long for that touch and it pushes forth with its thorns of searing sorrow into our journey to remember.

This is the first poem I ever read form Rumi.
“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come.”

    Love again.

Romance is much more than we could ever think about.
You just have to go there.

    There's a Rugged Road
    Judee Sill

There's a rugged road on the prairie
Stretchin' all across the last frontier
    There a stranger strives solitary
    Blessed is the lonesome pioneer

Roll on, roll on, roll on, night birds are flyin'
Come on, the light is gone, hope's slowly dyin'
Tell me how you come ridin' through
Still surveyin' the miles yet to run
On the long and lonely road to kingdom come

He can blaze a trail, though the rumblin'
Dims his guiding light to just a spark
When the hour is low, he comes tumblin'
When the moon is high he gives his heart

Roll on, roll on, roll on, night birds are flyin'
Come on, the light is gone, hope's slowly dyin'
Tell me how you come ridin' through
Gainin' steady till this round is won
On the long and lonely road to kingdom come

    People far below chasin' pleasures
Offer him directions on the run
Prophets on the path offer treasures
Though she's mighty hungry he takes none

Roll on, roll on, roll on, night birds are flyin'
Come on, the light is gone, hope's slowly dyin'
Tell me how you come ridin' through
    Blindly faithful but followin' none
On the long and lonely road to kingdom come

When the sun goes down at the right time
She comes windin' through the purple haze
Just a feather's touch in the night time
But it'll color all my weary days

Shinin' finer than this earthly sun
On the ragged, rugged road to kingdom come
On the ragged, rugged road to kingdom come
    Judee Sills met her Friend.

    Love rising from the mists,
Promise me this and only this,
Holy breath touching me, like a wind song
    Sweet communion of a kiss

    Sun sifting through the grey
Enter in, reach me with a ray
Silently swooping down, just to show me
How to give my heart away

    Once a crystal choir
    Appeared while I was sleeping
    And called my name
And when they came down nearer
    Saying, dying is done,
Then a new song was sung
Until somewhere we breathed as one
And still I hear their whisper

    Stars bursting in the sky
Hear the sad nova's dying cry
Shimmering memory, come and hold me
While you show me how to fly

    Sun sifting through the grey
Enter in, reach me with a ray
Silently swooping down, just to show me
How to give my heart away

    Lately sparkling hosts
    Come fill my dreams, descending
    On fiery beams
I've seen 'em come clear down
    Where our poor bodies lay,
    Soothe us gently and say,
Gonna wipe all your tears away
And still I hear their whisper?

    Love, rising from the mists
Promise me this and only this,
Holy breath touching me, like a wind song
    Sweet communion of a kiss

Down, where the valleys are low
Down, where the valleys are low, there's a refuge so high
And down, where the coldest winds blow, there the warmest winds hide
And deep, in the forest of woe, sweet deliverance is nigh
And deep, in the heart there's a rose that a glimmer keeps guidin'

'Til the heaven's song begins the holy files a-burnin'
And the harmony is set to weave a silver sermon
And my heart's aflame until the blessed rhythm's churnin'

Push me on from the danger that's pullin' me
    And holds me so strong...
Send a song on the wind to deliver me
Take me and rise, when the fire is on...
Take the reins, and the loneliness fillin' me
And make my fear fuel, and the fuel hi-octane

Down, where the valleys are low, there's a refuge so high
And down, where the coldest winds blow, there the warmest winds hide
And deep, in the forest of woe, sweet deliverance is nigh
And deep, in the heart there's a rose that a glimmer keeps guidin'

'Til the heaven's song begins the holy files a-burnin'
And the harmony is set to weave a silver sermon
And my heart's aflame until the blessed rhythm's churnin'

Lead the way thru the glories deceivin' me
    And reverie's sway...
Thru the day when the hereafter's holdin' me
Lend me a hand and I won't delay
Send a ray thru the seven veiled mysteries
And break their sweet spell, and their links of chain

    look at love
    by Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi
    English version by Nader Khalili

    look at love
    how it tangles
with the one fallen in love

    look at spirit
    how it fuses with earth
    giving it new life
    why are you so busy
with this or that or good or bad
pay attention to how things blend

    why talk about all
    the known and the unknown
see how the unknown merges into the known

    why think separately
of this life and the next
when one is born from the last

look at your heart and tongue
one feels but deaf and dumb
the other speaks in words and signs

    look at water and fire
    earth and wind
enemies and friends all at once

    the wolf and the lamb
    the lion and the deer
    far away yet together

look at the unity of this
    spring and winter
    manifested in the equinox

you too must mingle my friends
since the earth and the sky
are mingled just for you and me

    be like sugarcane
    sweet yet silent
don’t get mixed up with bitter words

my beloved grows right out of my own heart
how much more union can there be
feeling so full of this amazing passion so sharing

They met on the dance floor
In the old high school gym,
    He fell like a rock
    She kinda liked him
And his heart beat like thunder
As they moved cross the floor
    When the music was over
She slipped out of his arms
    And out the door.

Yeah a man loves a woman
    But he can't understand
Why she's sad when she stares
At the ring on her hand
Or she sits in some club
    Where the long shadows fall
Drops a coin in the jukebox
Not the phone on the wall

So close, yet so far away
So close, yet so far away
    We believe in tomorrow
    Maybe more than today.
    We're so close, so close
    Yet so far away

    Some people think
    If you really believe
    That's what you need
    To solve all the mysteries
    Yeah I know someone
Who just heads for the sun
She says "I don't want to be wise
I just want to stay young"

So close, yet so far away
So close, yet so far away
    We believe in tomorrow
    Though we're stuck in today
Baby we're so close, so close
    Yet so far away

There's a restless look in your eye tonight
There's a secret hurt in my heart
And the dream that pulls us together, girl
Is a dream, that's gonna tear us, tear us apart

There's a restless look in your eye tonight
Oh, are you lookin' for some way out of here
We gotta fight to keep it together, girl
For the dream, that keeps us

So close, yet so far away
So close, yet so far away
    Who would have thought, girl
That we'd end up this way
Baby, we're so close, so close
    So far away
We're living in a dream world
    Yet we're livin' today, girl
    Just you and me, baby
Gotta try, gotta try, gotta try, gotta try, gotta try, gotta try, gotta try
    = DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR =

Lisa Gerrard - Voice of the Heart
Rumi - Poet of the Heart

We search for Him here and there
    while looking right at Him.
Sitting by His side we ask,
"O Beloved, where is the Beloved?"
    Enough with such questions! --
Let silence take you to the core of life.
    All your talk is worthless
    When compared to one whisper
    of the Beloved.

    Listen to the Rain

Every time the rain comes down
I close my eyes and listen
I can hear the lonesome sound
Of the sky as it cries

    Listen to the rain
    Here it comes again
    Hear it in the rain

Feel the touch of tears that fall
    They won't fall forever
In the way the day will flow
All things come, all things go

Listen to the rain, the rain
    Here it comes again, again
Hear it in the rain, the rain

Late at night I drift away
    I can hear you calling
And my name is in the rain
    Leaves on trees whispering
    Deep blue seas, mysteries

    Even when this moment ends
    Can't let go this feeling
    Everything will come again
    In the sound falling down
Of the sky as it cries
Hear my name in the rain

Hymn of Love ~ Ο ύμνος της αγάπης ~ El Greco ~ Zbigniew Preisner

    New King James Version
    1 Corinthians 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

In the mid to late 1960s, Bunyan was under contract to Andrew Oldham, which saw her release two singles. However, Bunyan found the experience frustrating, and decided to head for the Scottish islands in search of an artistic commune supposedly established by Donovan. She travelled around the countryside with her partner Robert, in a horse-drawn wagon. It was during these travels that she wrote the songs which would later appear on Just Another Diamond Day.

Bunyan returned to London where she was urged by producer Joe Boyd to record her songs while they were still fresh. The recording session took place throughout December 1969 at Sound Techniques in London. Song arrangements were performed by Robert Kirby, who also worked with Nick Drake. Members of Fairport Convention and Incredible String Band contributed to some tracks. The album was initially released in 1970 but was a commercial failure and Bunyan retired from music for many years.

Born October 04, 1946, London, England, United Kingdom
Bridget St. John's first album was a wholly acoustic, almost wholly solo folk affair, though different from many British folk albums of the time in that it was comprised entirely of self-composed material. St. John sang low-key, reflective, slightly sad songs that were unsurpassed, really, in their extraordinary level of containment. That's not say they were brilliant, or even as good as those of another British singer/songwriter of the time known for reserved meditations, Nick Drake. There was, however, the sense of an unflappable woman whose temperature would remain unchanged by nothing short of an equatorial sun. Her deep voice makes her sound at times rather like a Nico who can sing more in tune, without Nico's gothic or more bizarre streaks. Perhaps there's a tinge of Françoise Hardy without the pop sensibility, too, if you're looking for another comparison. It's music for wandering through meadows on overcast days, though a sameness to the presentation (the slide guitar on "Many Happy Returns" makes for a welcome dash of urgency) and a lack of excellent melodies can make it easy for one's mind to wander. [This and her second album, Songs for the Gentle Man, were combined onto one CD by See for Miles in 1994, and that reissue might be much easier to find than the original LP.] ~ Richie Unterberger

Nick Drake/His shyness and awkwardness were almost transcendent. A tall man, his clothes—black corduroy jacket and pants, frayed white shirt—hung around him like bedclothes after a particularly bad night’s sleep. He sat on a small stool, hunched tight over a tiny Guild guitar, beginning songs and, halfway through, forgetting where he was and stumbling back to the start of that song, or beginning an entirely different song which he would then abandon mid-way through if he remembered the remainder of the first. He sang away from the microphone, mumbled and whispered, all with a sense of precariousness and doom. It was like being at the bedside of a dying man who wants to tell you a secret, but who keeps changing his mind at the last minute.

In 1973, John Martyn released one of the defining British albums of the 1970s, Solid Air, the title song a tribute to the singer-songwriter Nick Drake, a close friend and label-mate who died in 1974 from an overdose of antidepressants.

I am amazed every day to discover music I never heard and composers with whom I feel a divine Spirit is moving.
I could compare my music to white light which contains all colours. Only a prism can divide the colours and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener. Arvo Part

Silence is the pause in me when I am near to God. Arvo Part

(from) A guide to Arvo Pärt's music

................Part went into a self-imposed creative exile for the next eight years, trying to find a way to resolve the creative conflict that he had opened up in Credo. His Third Symphony, from 1971, is the only piece that dates from this transitional period, an attempt to fuse elements of the traditions Pärt was drawn to: Gregorian chant, harmonic simplicity, and the spiritual explorations into his Russian Orthodox faith he undertook at the same time.

In 1976 he succeded in his quest, and the result sounds as if it had existed all along, music of the "little bells", the so-called "tintinnabuli", which you hear for the first time in this two-and-a-half minute piano miniature, Für Alina. This little piece is the seed from which the rest of Pärt's musical life has grown: in the space of just a couple of years, Pärt composed the pieces that are still among his most popular today, including Fratres, the concerto for two violins, Tabula Rasa, Summa, and the Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten.

And here's where it's easy to be fooled by preconceptions about Pärt's work. To dismiss it as cliched and sentimental holy minimalism is simply wrong. The power of the "tintinnabulation" he discovered comes from its combination of ascetic rigour and the apparent simplicity of its materials. And there are mysteries here. Pärt designed strict rules to control how the harmonic voices move with the melodic lines in his music, diktats which are as strict as serialism; ironically, given his rejection of his previous avant garde obsessions, the success of his new musical language is dependent on precisely the objectivity of thinking that serial composition demands. That austerity of process makes Pärt's tintinnabulation a new use of tonality, even a new kind of tonality, and it explains why his music sounds simultaneously ancient and modern, and why it embodies a genuine expressivity rather than a rehearsal of second-hand conventions.https://www.theguardian.com/music/to...ry-music-guide

What deep and profound insight into the human condition this composer has. The terrible loss of a single human life should shatter and shake us to the core like this music. Life can be so hard yet so beautiful, so connected yet disconnected at the same time. We all know love is the single most important thing we can have and will ever have in life yet that is not reflected in how we conduct and organize our societies. (TERrific)
The cantus was composed as an elegy to mourn the December 1976 death of the English composer Benjamin Britten. Pärt greatly admired Britten. Pärt described Britten as possessing the "unusual purity" that he himself sought as a composer.[3] Pärt viewed the Englishman as a kindred spirit;[2] however, he gained access to the latter's music only in 1980, after emigrating from Soviet Estonia to Austria, four years after Britten had died.[citation needed] When Britten died, Pärt felt that he had lost hope of meeting the only contemporary composer whose musical outlook, he believed, resembled his own.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantus...njamin_Britten

These songs feel a "certain way" to my ear.
They hold scent like Bourbon vanilla and frankincense and myrrh.
They waft through the air and slide down my throat
This music is food for my heart who is longing and needs to eat.
There is not earthly food stuff anywhere enough to enliven my heart.
It wants to be tasting the soil that gives life to food?

Dead Can Dance was made up of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. Their soul music is always nutritious, mind blowing, holding a signature depth of emotion and original after all these years

    Babylon
    Brendan Perry

Spirit rise to greet the sun
Takes my hand and beats the drum
    Tries to make me understand
We are as one in a sea of sand.

    I' m praying for rain,
    To see desert flowers again

    Underground the children sing
In spite of what the storm may bring
In their hearts a dormant seed
Dreams of life beyond the reeds

In our hearts and minds we see
    The hope that springs eternally

    Whilst underground the hidden stream
    Flows into the man machine

The eagle flies up towards the sun
High above the fields of Babylon
In one claw he holds an olive branch for peace
In the other twelve arrows for his enemies, for his enemies

    Sons and daughters of America
    You lay down your lives
    For the warlords of America
Not for your sake, not for mine

    The Serpent and The Dove
    Lisa Gerrard

Once there was a secret union
    A serpent and a dove
    Enchanted by their beauty
    They found a perfect love
Although the garden was lost to them
    They sought a purity
    They're shown by the sunlight
    A gate into the sea
    A home there to be
There they lived beyond all reason
    Acquainted by their dreams
    But one in true affection
    Their souls would be redeemed
    The dolphin song
    Fell sweetly on their ears
    In sacred tears
    They called for our saviour
    To cast away their fears
    They prayed there for years
Once there was a sacred union
    A dolphin and a whale
    The purity within them
    No other could avail
    The song incited a peace
Within their frail and gentle ways
    They softly embraced us
And sought the souls of sails
    They praised us in vain
Once there was a magic union
    A beetle and a frog
    Their songs were so enchanted
    They mystified the fog
    Although their singing
    Was not the sweetest sound
    They called the morning
    And bore up a guardianship
    On those unborn
    Hence, warning
    Transcending dreams
    There was a frightening union
    A sailor and a gun
    ?
    And murdered just for fun
    All their laughter
    Bore tears to those afraid
    They slayed, and dared
    That others would seize them
And leave them cold and scared
    They wasted
    And murdered
    They wasted
    And orphaned

    Children of The Sun
    Dead Can't Dance

    "Children Of The Sun"

    We are ancients
    As ancient as the sun
    We came from the ocean
    Once our ancestral home
    So that one day
    We could all return
    To our birthright
    The great celestial dome

We are the children of the sun
    Our journey's just begun
    Sunflowers in our hair
We are the children of the sun
    There is room for everyone
    Sunflowers in our hair

    Throughout the ages
    Of iron, bronze, and stone
We marvelled at the night sky
    And what may lie beyond
    We burned offerings
    To the elemental ones
    Made sacrifices
    For beauty, peace and love

We are the children of the sun
    Our kingdom will come
    Sunflowers in our hair
We are the children of the sun
    Our carnival's begun
Our songs will fill the air

    And you know it's time
    To look for reasons why
Just reach up and touch the sky
    To the heavens we'll ascend
We are the children of the sun
    Our journey has begun

    All the older children
    Come out at night
    Anaemic, soulless
    Great hunger in their eyes
    Unaware of the beauty
    That sleeps tonight

    And all the queen's horses
    And all the king's men
Will never put these children back
    Together again

    Faith, hope, our charities
    Greed, sloth, our enemies

We are the children of the sun
We are the children of the sun

"In all the places we were hiding love, what is it we were thinking of?" Peter Gabriel

    "Father, Son"

    Father, son
    Locked as one
    In this empty room
    Spine against spine
    Yours against mine
    Till the warmth comes through

Remember the breakwaters down by the waves
    I first found my courage
    Knowing daddy could save
I could hold back the tide
With my dad by my side

    Dogs, plows and bows
    We move through each pose
    Struggling in our separate ways
    Mantras and hymns
    Unfolding limbs
Looking for release through the pain

And the yogi's eyes are open
    Looking up above
He too is dreaming of his daddy's love
With his dad by his side
Got his dad by his side

    Can you recall
How you took me to school
We couldn't talk much at all
    It's been so many years
    And now these tears
    Guess I'm still your child

    Out on the moors
    We take a pause
See how far we have come
    You're moving quite slow
    How far can we go
    Father and son

With my dad by my side
With my dad by my side
Got my dad by my side
    With me

    "Signal To Noise"

you know the way that things go
when what you fight for starts to fall
    and in that fuzzy picture
he writing stands out on the wall
    so clearly on the wall

send out the signals deep and loud

and in this place, can you reassure me
with a touch, a smile - while the cradle's burning
all the while the world is turning to noise
oh the more that it's surrounding us
    the more that it destroys
    turn up the signal
    wipe out the noise

send out the signals deep and loud

man i'm losing sound and sight
of all those who can tell me wrong from right
when all things beautiful and bright
    sink in the night
yet there's still something in my heart
    that can find a way
    to make a start
    to turn up the signal
    wipe out the noise

    wipe out the noise
    wipe out the noise
    you know that's it
    you know that's it
    receive and transmit
    receive and transmit
    receive and transmit
    you know that's it
    you know that's it
    receive and transmit
    you know that's it
    you know that's it

    Secret World

I stood in this sunsheltered place
'Til I could see the face behind the face
All that had gone before had left no trace

    Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
All the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

So I watch you wash your hair
    Underwater, unaware
And the plane flies through the air
Did you think you didn't have to choose it
That I alone could win or lose it
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

In this house of make believe
Divided in two, like Adam and Eve
You put out and I receive

    [Chorus:]
    Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

Oh the wheel is turning spinning round and round
And the house is crubling but the stairways stand

With no guilt and no shame, no sorrow or blame
Whatever it is, we are all the same

Making it up in our secret world [x3]
    Shaking it up
    Breaking it up
Making it up in our secret world

Seeing things that were not there
On a wing on a prayer
    In this state of disrepair
    Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
All the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

    "Here Comes The Flood"

    When the night shows
    the signals grow on radios
    All the strange things
they come and go, as early warnings
Stranded starfish have no place to hide
still waiting for the swollen Easter tide
There's no point in direction we cannot
    even choose a side.

    I took the old track
the hollow shoulder, across the waters
    On the tall cliffs
they were getting older, sons and daughters
The jaded underworld was riding high
Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky
and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain
was warm and soaked the crowd.

    Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
    in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

    When the flood calls
You have no home, you have no walls
    In the thunder crash
    You're a thousand minds, within a flash
Don't be afraid to cry at what you see
The actors gone, there's only you and me
And if we break before the dawn, they'll
use up what we used to be.

    Lord, here comes the flood
We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood
If again the seas are silent
    in any still alive
It'll be those who gave their island to survive
Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

    "Blood Of Eden"

I caught sight of my reflection
I caught it in the window
I saw the darkness in my heart
I saw the signs of my undoing
They had been there from the start
And the darkness still has work to do
    The knotted chord's untying
    They're heated and they're holy
Oh they're sitting there on high
So secure with everything they're buying

    [Chorus:]
    In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
With the man in the woman
And the woman in the man
    In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
    We wanted the union
Oh the union of the woman
    The woman and the man

    My grip is surely slipping
I think I've lost my hold
Yes, I think I've lost my hold
    I cannot get insurance anymore
They don't take credit, only gold
Is that a dagger or a crucifix I see
You hold so tightly in your hand
And all the while the distance grows between you and me
    I do not understand

    [Chorus]

At my request, you take me in
In that tenderness, I am floating away
No certainty, nothing to rely on
    Holding still for a moment
    What a moment this is
Oh for a moment of forgetting, a moment of bliss
    Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I can hear the distant thunder
    Of a million unheard souls
    Of a million unheard souls
Watch each one reach for creature comfort
For the filling of their holes

    In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
With the man in the woman
And the woman in the man
    In the blood of Eden
    We wanted the union
Of the woman and the man

    In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
I feel the man in the woman
And the woman in the man

    In the blood of Eden
Lie the woman and the man
I feel the man in the woman
And the woman in the man

    In the blood of Eden
    We've done everything we can
    In the blood of Eden
Saw the end as we began
With the man in the woman
And the woman in the man
It was all for the union
Oh, the union of the woman, the woman and the man.

[extra lyrics from the "film mix"]

The blood of eden keeps running through me
    running through my veins
the blood of eden keeps rushing through me
when I'm sure there's none that remains
the blood of eden keeps running through me
I can feel it in my bones
that blood of eden keeps rushing through me
    taking back what it owns

    "Lay Your Hands On Me"

Sat in the corner of the Garden Grill, with plastic flowers
    on the window sil
No more miracles, loaves and fishes, been so busy with the
    washing of the dishes
Reaction level's much too high - I can do without the stimuli

I'm living way beyond my ways and means, living in the
    zone of the inbetweens
I can see the flashes on the frozen ocean, static charge of
    the cold emotion
Watched on by the distant eyes - watched on by the silent
    hidden spies

But still the warmth flows through me
And I sense you know me well
    No luck, no golden chances
    No mitigating circumstances now
    It's only common sense
There are no accidents around here

I am willing - lay your hands on me
I am ready - lay your hands on me
I believe - lay your hands on me, over me

Working in gardens, thornless roses, fat men play with their
    garden hoses
Poolside laughter has a cynical bite, sausage speared by the
    cocktail satellite
I walk away from from light and sound, down stairways
    leading underground

But still the warmth flows through me
And I sense you know me well
    It's only common sense
There are no accidents around here

I am willing - lay your hands on me
I am ready - lay your hands on me
I believe - lay your hands on me, over me
    over me

    Lay your hands on me
    Lay your hands on me
Lay your hands on me, over me

    "The Time Of The Turning"

    In the big house
    Where the sun lives
With the walls so white and blue
    In the red soil
    All the green grows
And the winds blow across your face
    They blow across your heart

It's the time of the turning and there's something stirring outside
It's the time of turning and we'd better learn to say our goodbyes

    All the earth breaks
    Like a stale bread
And the seeds are folded in the soil
    Oh the sun pours
    Then the rains fall
While the roots reach out right through the ground
They reach out through the ground

It's the time of turning and there's something stirring outside
It's the time of turning and the old world's falling
Nothing you can do can stop the next emerging
Time of the turning and we'd better learn to say our goodbyes
    If we can stand up
    When all else falls down
    We'll last through the winter
    We'll last through the storms
We'll last through the north winds
That bring down the ice and snow
We'll last through the long nights
Till the green field's growing again
    Growing again

Hey Maggie! Love your choices in music. Lisa Gerrard is an all time favorite with her intonations from other dimensions. I can easily meditate to music like this. Thanks for sharing it!

Do you feel like sharing your music too?

Youtube has been my best friend lately.
I keep finding songs that echo with the feeling of new resonance in me.

Ananda Vdovic lives in Croatia with her husband & co-creator of her music.

I like to meditate with Snatum Kaur...

    Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYivP3gedCo

    Translation:

    Ra - Sun

    Ma - Moon

    Daa - Earth

    Saa - Impersonal Infinity

Saa Say - Totality of Infinity

So - Personal sense of merger and identity

Hung - The infinite, vibrating and real.

This mantra taps into the energies of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit to bring deep healing. It is important to pull the navel point powerfully on the first Sa and on Hung. Note that the word Hung is not long and drawn out. Rather, it is clipped off forcefully as you pull in the navel. Chant one complete cycle of the entire mantra with each breath. Then deeply inhale and repeat. Remember to move the mouth precisely with each sound. Try to feel the resonance in the mouth and in the sinus area.

Mental Focus: You can choose to mentally visualize the person or persons that you are wanting to heal, as you send this energy to them for their well*-being.

Time: Continue chanting for 11 to 31 minutes.

To End: To end the meditation, inhale deeply and hold the breath, as you offer a healing prayer. Visualize the person you wish to heal as being totally healthy, radiant, and strong. See the person completely engulfed in a healing white light and completely healed. Then exhale and inhale deeply again, hold the breath, and offer the same prayer again. Exhale.

To complete, inhale deeply, stretch your arms up high, and vigorously shake out your hands and fingers for several seconds. Keep the arms up and hands shaking as you exhale. Repeat two more times and relax.

She herself has said that she tunes in to the language she sings and it is not a spoken Earth language. That is interesting in on itself to me.
