Andrew announced his candidacy for president in 2017. He addresses the issues with jobs being lost to tech. Beyond retail and Amazon, back-room jobs will be lost across the board.

This will include insurance folks, bank tellers, truck drivers, and many many more.

It's easy for someone to tell you to get a job. It's not so easy when jobs are disappearing at an alarming rate...

It's curious that a character in a book I'm reading has the same name...The character is a frontline researcher fighting the 'Daybreak' conspiracy. The Daybreakers are a brainwashed faction of humanity that as a yet undisclosed super force has mindcontrolled them into sending civilization back to the 1800's. They worship Gaia and are bent on eradicating humanity and are well on their way in doing so with very high tech mechanisms. Andy Yang gets co-opted by the (aliens, Chinese, Iranians) and ultimately is executed despite being merely a brilliant pawn in the game. It is later regretted that he was removed because he was one of the few people in the world that had the wherewithal to fight the Daybreakers and their masters.

I'm finally getting around to listening to the Abby Martin interview. It's a great one. They talk about the media, corporate censorship, they have good things to say about Tulsi Gabbard. Joe also says a few good words about Andrew Yang, who I also like.

Joe and Abby talk about happiness...

They talk a good deal about Iran.

That was a good one, and Tulsi is the sleeping dark horse of this go around IMO. Her compelling experience as a battlefield soldier and anti war stance even has appeal to the other side, which is precisely how Captain Chaos was able to stick it to Hillary in her own electoral back yard to steal the show in dramatic fashion.

The way I see it is that any combination of Sanders/Gabbard is the only one that stands a chance at undermining, and ultimately defeating Trump's solid base on the all important battlefield of ideas.

I can see Yang landing himself a cabinet position.

    Tulsi/Sanders.

That would be a tough pair, and a powerful combination.

She's a huge breath of fresh air in terms of our stupid forever wars.

I was growing concerned throughout that first debate that she wasn't making her presence known, when finally chicken hawk Tim Ryan effectively ended his campaign by straying into her back yard on foreign policy.

The way she eviscerated his empty, ridiculous, endless war argument, was like the rookie draft pick smacking a late inning home run into the upper decks.

Raises some eyebrows. THAT, was the national introduction to the no nonsense warrior princess I see in her.

Poor Tim Ryan, he never saw in coming...

Williamson would be a great VP. She'd give lots of inspirational speeches. She'd be so much more dynamic than Pence.

To me it's beside the point whether one agrees with Bernie's politics or not. The man is clearly genuine, he has ideas with plans to implement them, he knows his shit through and through, and he's not afraid to be put to the test before millions of eyeballs. Candidates like Joe Biden, Pete Buddigieg or Kamala Harris would fold like a cheap card table in such an extended and probing sit down. I won't be expecting them...

Joe's at the point now where he will tell a guest, "Oh, they'll hear about it now. Now that you're on this podcast." Joe understands the width and breadth of his reach.

In the first several minutes Tulsi Gabbard's name comes up many times. I haven't listened in its entirety yet.

Even though there's a lot I don't agree with Dan on (foreign policy being a biggie), I think he's a good guy with a good head on his shoulders. Somebody I could work through some disagreements with at the negotiating table. I see his biggest sticking point in being the exact same one that used to be mine until the blinders suddenly started dislodging one fateful day: that in firmly believing America really is the good guy on the world stage, and that she is operating with good intentions at heart, with the military being her main instrument in keeping the world safe.

All in all though a very interesting conversation; one of my favorite parts was them comparing notes on the importance of toughening the mind, how to learn discipline and how important of a life skill that is.

I also liked that even though he's anti marijuana legalization, he emphasized several times it's not a hill he's ready to die on. It shows promise, that he's a thinker, and not afraid to challenge his belief system or have it challenged.

I like him. I would enjoy tossing a couple or so frosty cold ones down with him.
