Ethereal voice. Lovely music.
Ahh, existential angst, beautiful ...
This one is unforgettable for me... :)

I've decided this was a pretty intense song for its day:

When inward tenderness finds the secret hurt
pain itself will crack the rock
and AH... let the soul emerge.

This great movie has been uploaded to Avalon library, I've been intending to watch it. Terrence Malick is a master of cinema.
"Based on real events, A Hidden Life is the story of an unsung hero, Bl. Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife, Fani, and children that keeps his spirit alive."

Seems very high quality and powerful ... not my kind of movie ... :) sadly, i'm being honest, I've never seen Schindler's List or Sophie's Choice but I know they were great movies.
I lean more toward movie's like 'No Country for Old Men' or 'There will be blood', 'Saving of Private Ryan', 'The Gangs of New York', and like that. I've been watching this German series called 'Dark'. It is easy to lose track of what the hec is going on. If one decides to watch it, a forewarning is, whatever you do don't fall asleep. :)
8.8/10 IMDB - 94% Rotten Tomatoes - 3 seasons

That's a dark and multilayered movie, almost like a western (from the Coen brothers). Always liked it.

The music in the preview for Dark kept reminding me of something I know. I thought about it and it came to me. It's similar, in the beginning, to the music used by Suspicious Observers in the final video segments which show earth and sun images.
That coin toss scene is creepy.
creepy is the word ... sorta out of sync huh? I've used it in real life for effect ... just as a joke, though ... kind of like when I and my young niece were in the line at McDonalds and I started playing out that fast restaurant scene from 'Falling Down' (because I couldn't get what I wanted...wrong time) ... It freaked her out and when we got back home the first thing she told her mother was about me at McDonalds (out of my earshot, that is) :)
I have coins like quarter dollars and sometimes I flip them in order to choose between two things. :P

Now that's another favorite movie of mine, you just can take it serious despite the underlying sad theme.
The customer is always right!
