Sølvguttene Guttekor Oslo 1996 Part I - Panis Angelicus/Pié Jesu
My nephew, Ludvig (third from left front row with glasses) was singing in this famous choir from Norway. He used to sing this one Solo, but not on this video.
He called me up on the phone one day, saying: "Auntie, I've been singing with Kiri Te Kanawa and she patted me on the head!" Well he knew that I've been listening a lot to to KTK, singing Mozart. Now he's happily married to a lovely girl, and he's very handsome.

Sarah Brightman - Lascia Ch'io Pianga
Handel wrote this piece of music in 1705, and it is still considered one of the most beautiful songs ever. What a genius. The original melody for the aria is first found in Act III of Handel's 1705 opera Almira as a Sarabande.
Personally I think the best recording I've heard is made by Sarah Brightman, who is not an opera singer, but more contemporary. If you ignore the "Fluffed up pictures" it's just wonderful, I could listen to this just staring at a brick wall...and still appreciate it! Enjoy...whoever is open to classical stuff.
