Beck has, I heard, left Scientology. His celebrity protects him from them and their machinations.
I suspected that this song and the album reflected a personal conflict with him. I think he fell in love and couldn't be devoted just to Scientology anymore.
He discovered his humanity. Love (and lust) did it for him.

Jamiroquai was always my older brother's favorite band and then mine too. I really like that kind of funky, groovy music, and disco music too. I don't really listen to radio anymore and I hate most commercial radio channels, but if I happen to be somewhere like in a car and have to listen to radio then I'll always choose a station called Groove FM here, because they play only those older groovy classics.Quote:

There was this girl ... she moved into the apartment above me and came downstairs to get some information. There was a room full of guys and she later remarked the reason she was 'attracted' to me was that I was the only one not ogling her. As it turned out her family owned a huge trucking company ... hmmm. Well, ok that worked for me, ... she was a strangely nice person but a little jacked up in the head. We carried on for awhile and later found out that she married a work acquaintance. I'm an inquisitive sort so I just started talking with this guy during a softball game, I had just hit a triple and he was standing at the fence (what a stud I was ... no, not really) giving me a hard time. But he mentioned his wife and I asked him later who he was married to. It was that girl. So, I'm mentally going sputter and acting if I'm trying to recall the name and then casually say, "I think the name sounds familiar". Admittedly, he did a double-take on my response.Quote:

If you hadn't guessed already, it's a musical interpretation of H.G. Wells' War Of The Worlds. It features (among others) Justin Hayward (of The Moody Blues) and Chris Thompson (of Manfred Mann's Earth Band), and it has a narration by Richard Burton in between the musical segments.
