Don't forget this one: I remember my daughter telling me that one of her teachers (music) said that this is considered one of the best songs ever written. I never did verify ... :)

I had a friend that people thought looked like George Harrison (brilliant guy, poet, writer). He ended up being a horticulturist ... lol ... I guess not surprising as he was the one that introduced me to Mother Mary ... :) Let It Be.
That makes sense
"The irony is that Robertson, 53, is not American. He is Native American. The Canadian-born son of a Jewish gambler and small-time-hood father, Robertson is of American Indian descent — Mohawk — on his mother’s side. Rosemary Chrysler, or Dolly, as she was usually known, was raised on the Six Nations Reservation, in southern Ontario. And it was at Six Nations that her son, who spent many summers there as a youth, was schooled in the ancient wonders and enduring responsibilities of his heritage."

My favorite Robbie Robertson.

that's a cool song, OG.
This is probably the best rendition. The sound is more clear and the video is a bit cheesy, but its the early nineties, so....

I read the article about him ... interesting. A newly found 4th cousin has been sending some genealogy stories to me and my half-sister in California. It dates back to the 1870's and 1880's discussing the circumstances of the day ... it's pretty fascinating ... My maternal side ... Europeans... :)
I like the cheesy video ... :)
I had heard the name but don't remember listening to any of his music ... it's good. got a real vibe to it.
Glad you like it NP. You'll have to fill us all in on what you're learning about yourself. Maybe you're 1/8 Jewish too!
Mohawk. I knew he had native blood, didn't recall that it was Six Nations. The Mohawks are Dreamers. I wonder if Robbie is. I'm pretty sure all the Six Nations people were Dreamers to one degree or another but I think it was quite strong with the Mohawks.
I have a Seneca friend. He occasionally goes to visit family/friends on the reservation(s).
My friend Bob is a huge Beatles fan. I liked them but I preferred hard rock growing up.
