One of Boston's drummers played for a local band in Topeka Kansas...quite good.

I did as much partying to this song as Brett Kavanaugh did at Frat parties... :)

Already posted before, I'm sure, but worth a repost. :)
NAP, you party animal you.
This version really gives me goosebumps all over. Nancy's voice is simply outstanding, even now still after all of these years. And to think that this song was the only one that she ever did the lead vocal on. :belief:
The new Heart recording is very good.
It's not a cover, though. It has always been a Heart song, even though it is one of the few songs that they haven't written themselves. It was entirely written by one of Ann and Nancy's friends who often co-wrote with them on other songs. And it's also the only one of their songs where Nancy did the lead vocal. :)
Living in the Limelight. The universal dream, for those who wish to seem. Those who wish to be must put aside the alienation, get on with the fascination, the real relation, the underlying theme...

(didn't even have to look up the words:))
This is a song in Dutch from 1983, by the Dutch band "Het Goede Doel", which translates to English as "The Noble Cause", and they're singing about Belgium — a bit too waxing, I must say. :p But it was a big hit, both in the Netherlands and here in the Flanders, and these guys were all great musicians.
I've put the original lyrics in Dutch on the left hand side, and in the right hand column (and in a slightly lighter color) you will find a rough translation — "rough" because certain expressions cannot be translated literally without violating the context or emotions behind each line. ;)
Waar kan ik heen
Ik kan niet naar Duitsland
Kan niet naar Duitsland
Daar zijn ze zo streng
Waar kan ik heen
Ik kan niet naar Chili
Kan niet naar Chili
Daar doen ze zo eng
Ik wil niet wonen in Kuweit
Want Kuweit, dat is me te heet
En wat Amerika betreft
Dat land bestaat niet echt
Waar kan ik heen
Ik wil niet naar Noord-Ierland
Niet naar Noord-Ierland
Daar gaat alles stuk
Waar kan ik heen
Ik kan niet naar China
Ik wil niet naar China
Dat is me te druk
Ik wil niet wonen in Schotland
Want Schotland dat is me nat
En de U.S.S.S.S.R.
Dat gaat me echt te ver
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaan
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaan
Waar kan ik heen
Ik kan niet naar Cuba
Ik wil niet naar Cuba
Dat is me te zoet
Waar kan ik heen
Ik kan niet naar Polen
Ik wil niet naar Polen
Daar gaat het te goed
Ik wil niet wonen in Lapland
Want Lapland, dat is me te koud
En ik wil weg uit Nederland
Want hier krijg ik het benauwd
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaan
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaan
Ik heb getwijfeld over België
Omdat iedereen daar lacht
Ik heb getwijfeld over België
Want dat taaltje is zo zacht
Ik stond zelfs in dubio
Maar ik nam geen enkel risico
Ik heb getwijfeld over België
Ik stond zelfs in dubio
Maar ik nam geen enkel risico
Ik heb getwijfeld over België
België, België, België, België
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaan
Is er leven op Pluto
Kun je dansen op de maan
Is er een plaats tussen de sterren
Waar ik heen kan gaanWhere can I go to
I can't go to Germany
Can't go to Germany
They're so strict over there
Where can I go to
I can't go to Chile
Can't go to Chile
That's too scary
I don't want to live in Kuwait
Because Kuwait is much too hot
And whereas America's concerned
That country's not real
Where can I go to
I don't want to go to Northern Ireland
Can't go to Northern Ireland
Everything gets destroyed there
Where can I go to
I can't go to China
Don't want to go to China
There's too much going on there
I don't want to live in Scotland
Because Scotland is too wet
And the U.S.S.S.S.R.
That would be taking things way too far
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
Where can I go to
I can't go to Cuba
I don't want to go to Cuba
That's just a little too sweet
Where can I go to
I can't go to Poland
I don't want to go to Poland
Things are going too well over there
I don't want to live in Lapland
Because Lapland is way too cold
And I want to leave the Netherlands
Because I'm suffocating here
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
I was contemplating Belgium
Because everyone smiles there
I was contemplating Belgium
Because that lingo is so soft
I was even in doubt for a moment
But I didn't want to take any chances
I was contemplating Belgium
I was even in doubt for a moment
But I didn't want to take any chances
I was contemplating Belgium
Belgium, Belgium, Belgium, Belgium
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
Is there life on Pluto
Can you dance on the moon
Is there a place among the stars
That I can go to
Somehow, I missed this guy for most of his career...

I don't know whether this has been posted here before, but it's an oldie and a goodie. :)
Loving this song that I discovered just a few days ago, the band is familiar though.

Not sure whether I've already posted this one — hey, it's a looooong thread. :p
This was back when they were still called Little River Band, because due to a couple of unfortunate legal decisions in the 1980s, which then led to a litigation that they lost, Glenn Shorrock, Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles no longer own the legal right to call themselves Little River Band. The legal right to the band name now belongs to Stephen Housden, the lead guitarist who was brought in to replace David Briggs, who was still featured on lead guitar in the video below.
With Housden owning the rights to the band name, he and US American bass player Wayne Nelson — who was hired by the original Australian band members in 1980 — put a new band together, exclusively comprised of US American members with the exception of Housden himself. However, Housden in turn left the band in 2006 — he's now living in Ireland — while still retaining ownership of the band name, and so now Little River Band is a band exclusively comprised of US American members, with Nelson taking care of the lead vocals.
The original founding members are occasionally still performing their old songs under the name Birtles Shorrock Goble and have released DVDs with live performances of all their greatest hits.
Another gem from the past, when talent still mattered. :)
Another hit from the Wilson sisters. Although she mainly stuck to an acoustic guitar in those days, Nancy is quite a talented guitarist in her own right. :)
Even though Andy Serkis has done lots of regular acting on stage and in movies, he is best known for his motion capture performances, and especially so on account of his roles as Caesar in "Planet Of The Apes" and Gollum in "The Lord Of The Rings" and "The Hobbit".
Here he is on Stephen Colbert's show, where it is not only demonstrated by way of stock footage how the motion capture technique works, but where Andy assumes his Gollum persona again in order to read Donald Trump's tweets. :p
It's hilarious, check it out! :ha:
This was awesome. He's so good.

And "Listen to the Music" just makes me happy!
From the info under the video:
"In music as in life, the things that make us different make us stronger. All the various instruments, tones, perspectives, and cultures in this recording combine to create a new version of this classic Song Around The World."
