Great lyrics!
This is our favorite pub that's only open three months of the year. And EJ is one of our favorite pipers. Frances, who plays the bouzouki (I think it's a bouzouki), is one of the only people who can keep up with EJ.

This one really doesn't need any explanation. ;)

There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Business men, they drink my wine
Plowman dig my earth
None were level on the mind
Nobody up at his word
Hey, hey
No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl
I only just discovered that Twenty One Pilots collaborated with Mutemath. This starts with a beautiful version of the song "Heathens".
The session video is 25 min.
There are a lot of musical styles going on, TOP were self-taught. I don't know that much about Mutemath, but I've posted their video for "Blood Pressure" because it's uber cool.

Once in your life you find her
Someone that turns your heart around
And next thing you know you're closing down the town
Wake up and it's still with you
Even though you left her way across town
Wondering to yourself, "Hey, what've I found?"
When you get caught between the Moon and New York City
I know it's crazy, but it's true
If you get caught between the Moon and New York City
The best that you can do
The best that you can do is fall in love
Arthur he does as he pleases
All of his life, he's mastered choice
Deep in his heart, he's just, he's just a boy
Living his life one day at a time
And showing himself a really good time
Laughing about the way they want him to be
When you get caught between the Moon and New York City
I know it's crazy, but it's true
If you get caught between the Moon and New York City
The best that you can do,
The best that you can do is fall in love
When you get caught between the Moon and New York City
I know it's crazy, but it's true
If you get caught between the Moon and New York City
The best that you can do,
The best that you can do is fall in love
I guess I'm in one of my hopelessly romantic moods again... :hmm:

Oh, I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show
I tell myself that I can't hold out forever
I said there is no reason for my fear
'Cause I feel so secure when we're together
You give my life direction
You make everything so clear
And even as I wander
I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window
On a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars, forever
'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crushing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore
My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
I've been running around in circles in my mind
And it always seems that I'm following you, girl
'Cause you take me to the places
That alone I'd never find
And even as I wander
I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window
On a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars, forever
'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore
One of the somewhat lesser known British bands from the 1980s, but their ballads were quite good. The second one below is my favorite. ;)
One from their upcoming recording:

I think they're using Will Wheaton's tape...
An oldie again. This song was inspired by the dystopian George Lucas movie "THX 1138". Although Steve Lukather has stated that he never really liked the song, he did sing and play it again — on a nylon-string acoustic guitar — during Toto's 35th Anniversary Tour in 2013. :)
A Dutch band from the 1990s. ;)
I had Shawn Phillips records!
I think this is a great time capsule of some musical power meeting here.....

Rainbow Quest (1965–66) was a U.S. television series devoted to folk music and hosted by Pete Seeger. It was videotaped in black-and-white and featured musicians playing in traditional American music genres such as traditional folk music, old-time music, bluegrass and blues. The show's title is drawn from the lyrics of the song by Seeger "Oh, Had I A Golden Thread".
What's funny about that is that I was resistant to Shawn Phillips music because the person that introduced it to me did so as a take that when I maintained Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young music was the best...One of my all time favorites.
In addition, one of my good friends was in a horrible love triangle with a guy (from the same group of folks) that looked like Shawn Phillips and (Jesus). It broke my friend's heart and he ended up trying to commit suicide. He and the lady in question later married and divorced, of course...love sucks!
I just listened to the Shawn Phillips song I put up and he is very, very good... Such is life... :)
I was a true blue fan of Donovan's.
These two songs used to put me into outer space...of course, I was high... :)

These were pre Young...
A good friend of mine's uncle was Neil Young's helicopter chaffeur...
R.I.P. Brad Delp. He was as old as I am now when he sank so deep into a depression that he decided to take his own life. Boston has never been the same again without him.
This one's for a very dear friend of mine...
