you're very kind Elen ... thanks
Oldie but goodie... :)
Steely Dan is one of those bands that I know so many songs by and I'll hear one and be like, "Who is this again?" Oh it's them! Again.
I knew many songs of theirs before knowing whom they belonged to.
When I first heard this particular song, I didn't even know it was Steely Dan. I thought it was Thin Lizzy because of the rhythm, the chord progression, the singing style ─ very reminiscent of the late Phil Lynott ─ and the melodic, harmonized guitar solos. :noidea:
It is either way a song that could easily have been written and recorded by Thin Lizzy, albeit that the guitars would probably have sounded a tad heavier then, because they preferred Gibson Les Pauls, while the dual solos in this Steely Dan song were played on Fender Telecasters. :)
Okay, this Norwegian girl is quite something... Not very human I suppose, I know the feeling. :)

Musical synchronicity.
So the other day I thought of Gotye. I've posted many of his tunes here. And I watched the video for Somebody that I Used to Know. It's still a great video with the painted bodies and background.
Today I was reminded of Ingrid Michaelson and posted a funny video she did. And then what to my wondering eyes should appear? A cover of Gotye's song.
It's really good. And she does everything herself.

That's probably the greatest & saddest breakup song that I can think of...
That was so mean ... in the original it was the guy that got dawg'd
Well now people do what's called ghosting. They just disappear. No callbacks. Disconnected via social media.
Kinda the ultimate cop-out.
"That's quite common these days and I think that especially women do it more. It's more than offensive, it's cruel and very selfish."
yeah, it's biological I believe ... women have more at stake and they are pretty brilliant at making the calculations work out for them ... That statement originated in my thinking processes before I became 'enlightened' ... lol
