R.I.P. Meat Loaf...
Nice little piece by AP here featuring Ellen Foley, who was opposite "Meatloaf" (Marvin Lee Aday) in that unforgettable duet.

“It’s got an unbelievable mythology around it,” she said, noting that people often tell her they lost their virginity to the song. “Which makes sense,” she said. “They were following the script.” (The song included baseball announcer Phil Rizzuto giving a play-by-play about rounding the bases and sliding into home. Rizzuto later said he didn’t realize it was a metaphor.)
I didn't lose my virginity to that song, but at our wedding reception 23 years age, my newlywed wife and I did an impromptu acted out lip synced version of the duet when the DJ popped it on. That was a lot of fun and something we'll never forget.
Long before that, his larger than life presence made quite the impression on a young 13 year old Freddie seeing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the first time, although not the only one LOL...
Yes, but... I have to correct you on something ─ a little bit of trivia that I initially wanted to add to my previous post here but that I left out by lack of time because I was very busy elsewhere. :)
The female vocal on the recorded version of the song was indeed performed by Ellen Foley ─ and she would reprise that role again for Meat Loaf's next success single, "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth" ─ but the lady in the video (and performing those vocals during all of Meat Loaf's live concerts) is not Ellen Foley; it is Karla DeVito. Meat Loaf even addresses her by her name in the video I've posted here. ;)
As the story goes, Ellen Foley refused to perform the "French kissing" scene with Meat Loaf that was part of the song's live theatrics ─ all of Meat Loaf's songs are in fact constructed as mini-operas, with a fair dose of theatrics in both the videos and the live performances. However, Karla had no qualm regarding the act, and so she was chosen to replace Ellen Foley for the live shows and the videos. ;)
Seems apt for the time...

"Sticks and Stones may break my bones but at least the seeds of love will be sown."
Shout out to one of my favorite voices of all time, Oleta Adams.
This week's upload from the HSCC. It's an ambitious one, but they did an impressive job at it. :)

Never heard that song, I'm surprised that they have 'heavier' music in their repertoire. :)
Looking and sounding good ... :)
You should check out the whole recording, BOB. It's quite epic. I've posted Woman in Chains before, also with Oleta Adams. I shall do so again. That tune always hits. Tears for Fears was much more than the pop tunes.

I have that album, "Sowing The Seeds Of Love". The title track was also released as a single, along with yet a couple of other tracks. ;)
Truly epic. We're going to see them. They're doing a tour. The last time we saw them was, in fact, the Seeds of Love Tour. It was amazing.
