R.I.P. John Miles (23 April 1949 – 5 December 2021). :(
I am shocked. Seriously, I am. You are the third person in a row whom I've mentioned his passing to today and who says that they've never heard of him. :belief:
"Music" was released in 1976, and it went straight to #1 in most countries, and then stayed there for a long time. The song has also regularly been played on the radio ever since it was released, and it has continuously served ─ performed by John Miles himself, with a full symphonic orchestra ─ as the opening anthem for the Night Of The Proms concerts ever since the series took off in 1985.
John Miles was also notable for performing covers from several famous bands, including but not limited to Queen and Led Zeppelin, and for being a sideman for the late Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, and a whole host of other artists. He also did some session work.
The guy was a musical monument, and his song "Music" is the ultimate tribute to music, of all generations and genres.
I am not familiar with him either, but then again maybe that's not a surprise considering my generation.
This week's HSCC upload... ;)
Just listening shows me they are great musicians but the lyrics really suck, which is why I never liked them: Did they use this stolen lyric: "It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma". Or was it Styx ... whoever it was I never liked them for that simple reason? :)

Very Nice!
Some early digital-era electro pop ─ think early 1980s. Both were chart hits in their time, and they're pleasant to listen to. ;)
Art Of Noise was a faceless British band ─ the members would either not appear in their videos or would wear masks in order to not distract from the music ─ with producer Trevor Horn. Moses was an Italo-disco band. ;)
