My stepmother was from Czechoslovakia...and dressed like a Roma...large earrings, fluffy dresses... :)... my adoptive father and her use to go coconuts about polka music...I would always just roll my eyes... :) I actually pointed her out to my dad before they ever met...he didn't seem to pay much attention but I think it was because he didn't want to flop his tongue out and bug out his eyes around me. They were married for 50 years and they met in their 40's...and they fought with each other for every last day of it.

lol, I have a story about that, too...I've laid out enough run-on sentences at this point... ok, the short version. A guy I worked with had what was essentially a family band...his number one son at the time was in college pursuing music as a degree. I bought one of their CD's for $10...I did it out of courtesy more than interest. omigod, the sound didn't even resemble music...I was floored that someone would actually try to 'sell' them. He was a great guy, though...I never said anything... :)
