Indeed, Sister, Icehouse took his inspiration for "No Promises" from David Bowie's "This Is Not America", which Bowie recorded together with the Pat Metheny Group. ;)
I always loved Bowie in Labyrinth... Dance magic dance... Intriguing song. I used to play it over and over.... could never get my students into it. Those keyboards, those spiky, yearning, chords... <<< Yearning. is that over the top? I really hear yearning in those organ jabs, even though I sound like a music journalist.
