Nik Kershaw, still rocking after all these years — and now with a mohawk to boot. :p
I was in the army when this song came out. That was 33 years ago. :belief:
Mari Boine is a Norwegian Lap or Sami, and she has done a lot for the indigenous people up in the very very far North. She has written this Joik-like music which is like a chant into the spirit-world. "Brother Eagle". What is there not to like about this performance?

Live at the Oslo Opera House, October 2009. With Georg Buljo, guitar, Ole Jørn Myklebust, trumpet, Svein Schultz, bass, Gunnar Augland, drums & percussion, and Herman Rundberg, world stick.
Ah, Nik ... twenty years ago, I was teaching in a little school in the middle of rural Essex (UK): Nik and Sheri Kershaw lived in the village, and sent
their kids there. I taught both of them, and both Nik and Sheri were incredibly lovely people, and so caring towards their children. They did a lot for the
community - and Sheri was the talk of the village when she began to practise primal howling therapy in the garden ...
So thanks for this, Aragorn :chrs: - a blast from the past.
Thanks for sharing that, tarka. It's nice to know the regular human side.
Something peaceful in the background...

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY
I always put these songs thru iTunes as all my devices are Apple. It seems that several of these songs are not on any other iTunes album. This also happened with Vangelis / Paul Masson ‘we will sell no wine before it time’ song that was on TV in the 90s. Similar to Hymn, but not exactly.
...update...I meant Gallo wines:

Some more 1980s goodness... ;)
And to think I used to believe the 80s had no good music. Fortunately for me I met my husband at the end of that decade and he helped disabuse me of that notion.
