lol, I can absolutely see that happening...I hope my daughter doesn't succumb to that. Honestly, I don't think she believes she's good enough to be a marketable artist. She always focuses on learning techiques but she shies away from doing what is naturally her best media...Painting. I joke that she got the 'hardest road is the best road' thing from her dad. It's a great approach if one likes beating their head against the wall. She has always felt she lacked the ability to do portraits, in particular self-portraits. It's funny that when I 'was forced' to do an art class, I refused to do a self-portrait.
What she does do, however, is apply creative twists to her self-portraits which are always entertaining as heck. She is very creative. Through her formative years, she's won writing competitions. She did a video when she was in 4th or 5th grade that got her one place shy of competing at nationals. She took 2nd in Texas for her works. If she would have made it to the nationals she would have been in rarified company. 1 in 19,000 entries made it to that level.

The audio and the video are not in sync on this one, but who cares? It's an oldie but a goodie. :p

That was powerful, Nothing!
The video footage is obviously taken from a real live performance, but the audio is from the CD. Still, it's a killer song, and a killer guitar riff. ;)
Anyone remember this? I was still a teenager when this came out, and even though they have all aged considerably since then, they're still offering up a brilliant live performance. :)

The Buggles is a popular trivia question. I recall the song which I thought was weird at first and then grew to like.;)
I'm gonna bet no one remembers this one :) This is a true lyricist's classic. An alternate history of the sinking of the Titanic. Including Jews, Negro pugilists, Mexicans, and pothead predators. Probably shouldn't leave out the Italian politicians with the relatives that own construction companies.

To stay on theme, I always liked this one:

This is from my college years — well, the first time around, anyway. ;)
