Deep Purple was my father's favorite band in the 70's when he was a teen and thanks to him I got to appreciate that song and many others too. I've heard it so many times. I bought their collection of songs on vinyl too. Even rock truly rocked back in the 70's.
There was a club in my hometown called the 'Purple Pig". It let minors in...a high school party person's dream...It was later taken over by a guy that was a friend of a friend. I was permanently banned from it after a 'major disagreement'. A case of misidentification that I took exception to. My philosophy, "Perhaps there is never an excuse but there is always a reason" ... :)

Impressive, you know I was never that big of a fan of Prince...but yeah, cool song.

As for how I rated it... Well, it was an interesting version, but I'm no fan of Andy — the guy who opened the song. He strikes me as a narcissist, or at the very least, incredibly full of himself. I've seen other videos with him, both from SingItLive and from the HSCC, before the split.
