Thanks Beast, I can't stay away! Song below originally sung by Lesley Gore in a chirpy way. I wanted to hear the song in a powerful, less snippy way, and found this. I like it! Robin Peckinhold is fantastic, isn't he? That song was written and performed by Karen Dalton in the 60's

Here's some music from Finland, one of our better known songmakers from my parents generation.

Quote:
Gone man
I am mystical silvery disco man
I am lizard man licking his tongue
I am New England's leather man
Always born again with joy
You knew me as Markku
That boy doesn't exist anymore
You ripped a page from your memorybook
I'm totally out of your mind
The goner
Is history
The goner
Is history
I'm not interested in sugar beet
I wont go to the academy at fall
I haven't hunted for years
I don't want to grab a gun
I've got a synthesizer and a guitar and an amplifier
Lace curtains with rose figures
I have a past world in my room
I have an excellent future
The goner
Is history
The goner
Is history
My dad used to carve wooden men
I found a wooden woman in the field
Even a spearhead I found and lost
I carve my own men on vinyl
And when you once open the radio
You hear some strangely familiar, beautiful
That you think you've once known
That you thought you could forget
The goner
Is history
The goner
Is history
I am mystical silvery disco man
I am lizard man licking his tongue
I am New England's leather man
Always born again with joy
I like it, I was going to joke that I liked the lyrics the best, then I noticed that you had posted them right below ... :)
Sugar beets, huh. One of my dad's 'adoption' stories about me was that my bio-father was a 'migrant worker' picking sugar beets in Iowa. I clearly have no clue where he came up with that one.
And she's pretty, too. :)
Awesome. What lovely playing. Thanks.
Older Finnish progressive rock, one of the best sounds that have come out from this country IMO.
The lead singer was British though, he passed away just now.
