Who is "beginning to get the gist of things"? Far out...
Vogt and Borlaug clearly need to reconcile.
That is, we need to.

Money is just to eleviate survival fear, therefore the root went that way (points).
I have so far tracked that root to "sense of loss or separation" or maybe it is the echo of experience of loss or separation, rather than a sense.
Money allows trade to survive and because it makes it easier than bartering it has acted as a wall to learning. Locking people out of lessons regarding cooperation and such, making such things foreign to them.
However each epoch supplies an environment to learn just different syllabus. Money has allowed progress, but at the sort of cost like we see in the example of the video. Its always a choice, we could all have chosen to be grown ups and use money ethically, but the nature of the beast is that it is abstract and detached from reality, and so I see this as having afforded the change in perceptions by users of money.
IMO this period is one which is difficult to sustain, it should be plain to see, should have been, by all our so called teachers and experts, for decades. I used to think the purpose for this period of unsustainability, is to learn absract philosophical spiritual aspects on a global population level via widespread literacy. Its proven to be on a few deadlines. It seems much of the alloted time has been wasted through personal frotting. Make up and wifi.
