It was the same here. I tried to stay safe, until my brother's wedding came along, which I couldn't avoid.
We got a death, a hospitalisation and several covid illnesses out of it. I guess lockdowns really do work, but they're damn annoying nevertheless.
The big mystery to me ( or perhaps annoyance, as the reasons are pretty clear), is why Asia has been so much better at handling the covid outbreak than the supposedly advanced "West". Here in Hungary we are living under wartime conditions, with curfews from 8 PM and all events and gatherings banned, with only grocery stores allowed to stay open.
In most of Asia, life goes on like normal. Cinemas, restaurants are open, you can go out and enjoy yourself. There are even parties in Wuhan now. It really looks like the West has really fucked this one up, the response has been pathetic.
